‘Agatha All Along’ just released its final two episodes. Episodes 8 and 9 had a mix of sad and happy moments; some characters are really gone, but Agatha remains in an unusual way so she can be used in future projects if needed.
Since the show was announced, fans have been hoping for a chance for Agatha to be redeemed, and you could say that the last thing she did while alive was sacrifice herself for Billy.
However, there’s a big twist in Episode 9: it shows that Agatha is beyond redemption and truly evil. Why? In the final episode, we learn that Agatha had a good reason for killing witches, which earned her a bloody reputation in the community.
Her son, Nicholas Scratch, was supposed to die at birth, so Agatha made a deal with her ex, Lady Death, to buy him more time. Death told her she couldn’t heal him but could give him a little more time.
This led to Agatha and Nicholas killing witches wherever they went for a few years, leaving many bodies behind. As Nicholas got older, he probably realized why they were killing the witches and no longer wanted to be part of it.
Nicholas died one night after they skipped a “sacrifice” together. Agatha was heartbroken over her son’s death, but just seconds after burying him, she returned to her old ways of killing. Even after losing her son and with no reason to keep killing, Agatha went on to murder thousands of witches over the centuries.
We never get a clear explanation for why she kept killing. We can guess that she might have become addicted to power and was simply evil.
Her ongoing killings show just how evil Agatha is, but the fact that she started killing in the first place is very wrong. She broke the natural order and sacrificed hundreds of lives just to give her son a little more time. Agatha knew that her son didn’t have a future; he was only living on borrowed time, yet she continued to kill.
Agatha understood how wrong this was. She told Billy that she was scared to face her son in the afterlife because the cost of his short life was too high.
