Mark Kern aka Grummz, the former Team Lead for World of Warcraft, predicted that AAA video game studios will double down to “get an even stronger ‘protest’ message out” after Donald Trump won the election for the President of the United States.
In a post to X, Grummz shared his prediction, “I think AAA devs will try to double down and get an even stronger ‘protest’ message out.”
He added, “This will tank their games eve[n] harder and Investors will eventually punish them in the stock market until profit reigns over insanity. 2 years to stop the spread. Don’t forget to identify as non-buynary!”

READ: Former Sweet Baby Inc. Employee Confirms Company Is Doubling Down On Woke Agenda: “They’re Not Gonna Stop Us”
Kern’s prediction comes just days after a former Sweet Baby Inc. employee made it clear that the company would be doubling down on its efforts to inject woke ideology into the video game industry.
Grant Roberts, who worked for Sweet Baby Inc. as a narrative director for a year and a half told TheGamer, “The world is the way it is now. These games are more inclusive for people. Games are more authentic, and it doesn’t matter whether you think that’s true or not, it’s happening.”
“And so, no matter what these people do, they’re not gonna stop us. They’re not going to stop the way that the world is now,” he declared.
It also comes just days after Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed boss Marc-Alexis Côté seemingly admitting that the company’s DEI policies are hurting how the company’s games are perceived, but he and Ubisoft will be moving forward with them anyway.
As reported by Eurogamer, Côté made an appearance at a BAFTA event where he shared that discussions of Ubisoft’s DEI policies “can influence how our gamers are perceived, but rather than shy away from those conversations, we should see them as an opportunity.”
Later in his presentation he made it clear the company would continue to embrace those policies and the agenda, ” At the end of the day, Assassin’s Creed is not just a franchise, it’s a platform for entertainment, dialogue, discovery and understanding. Our commitment isn’t just about reflecting on the past, it’s about ensuring that the stories we tell continue to unite, inspire and challenge players, regardless of their background, and we’ll continue to stand by these values because they are central to the heart of the franchise, and I believe, to the future of storytelling itself.”
“Ultimately, we believe that the diversity and richness of the human experience is what helps Assassin’s Creed resonate with players across the globe, and we’re committed to standing firm on that foundation,” Coté asserted.
Côté then doubled down on this idea that Assassin’s Creed is not a game, but something else altogether, “Assassin’s Creed is more than just a game. It can be a platform for meaningful exploration and reflection wrapped in the excitement of unforgettable gameplay, and it is that fusion of creativity, diversity, immersion and fun that continues to define the franchise and connect it with players around the globe.”
Still later, he shared, “As the authors of ‘How Democracies Die’ so powerfully stated, democracies crumble when good people decide to stay silent. The same is true, I think, of our creative freedom when we allow fear to stifle our voices. When we self-censor in the face of threats, we hand over our power, piece by piece, until freedom and creativity both wither away.”
“It’s time for us as creators to stand firm on our commitment to our values, by telling stories that inspire, that challenge and that help people connect. Our silence cannot become complicit,” he asserted.
