Jenna Ortega has become influenced by her Wednesday character, Wednesday Addams, at least when it comes to her personal style. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about how playing the iconic character on the Netflix series has altered what she wears in real life.
“I do think that Wednesday changed my taste a lot. I have a hard time getting her off of me, at least clothing-wise,” Ortega told In Style. “It’s also something that I’ve always wanted to do. I just never felt like I could. I feel like there were always a lot of voices and opinions that I used to place too much value in.”
One Wednesday-inspired look Ortega recently wore was the black Versace bride gown and veil (as pictured above) at the show’s premiere. “The Versace dress was definitely something that we were planning in terms of, OK, how do we make this gothic, but not doing too much or trying too hard? And the veil was perfectly teetering on the edge of that,” Ortega explained. “So it was really fun for me.”
Season 1 of Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
