The Arkham series could’ve been so much more, according to leaks, which suggest a canceled Arkham Knight sequel focusing on Damian Wayne’s Batman. While the title was ultimately canceled in favor of Gotham Knights, it’s only now that the game’s details have emerged.
New concept art for the game has now emerged, giving us our best look at Damian Wayne and a much older Bruce Wayne, along with Huntress, another formidable member of the Bat family.
Why it matters: A game focusing on the next generation of Batman would have been the perfect send-off for Bruce Wayne’s Dark Knight.
Rodrigue Prailer, senior character artist, shared some artwork for the canceled project in 2015, which implies that he was referring to the canceled Arkham Knight sequel. The artist’s LinkedIn work history also suggests that he worked for Warner Bros. Montreal during that period.
His visualization of Damian Wayne is that of a moody young adult, much grittier than his predecessor, but he looks menacing. On the other hand, the billionaire Bruce Wayne appears much older with crutches on his broken leg.
The shared design of Killer Croc suggests that the sewer monster was still alive after many years.
However, the biggest surprise was a design for Huntress, an important Bat-family member and a daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle.
Recently, another artist also shared a few renders for the Batcycle, which would’ve been the permanent vehicle for the Batmobile in the sequel.
Fans will be pleased to know that Batman Beyond has now been revived. Developers have planned the game as a trilogy, exclusive to PlayStation and PC.
