Episode 7 of Agatha All Along has just been released. This week’s episode featured the Trial of Time, focusing on Lilia Calderu, the divination witch. Throughout the series, Lilia has been dropping subtle yet significant hints.

She provided Agatha with a list of coven members, predicted Alice’s death, and recently revealed that she foresaw Billy Maximoff’s fate, which led her to place a sigil on him.

Her decision may have also had a significant impact on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as we recently speculated.

We finally learned about Lilia’s tragic backstory. Centuries ago in Sicily, she was a young girl training to be a witch with her coven, which was ultimately wiped out by a plague.

We discovered that Lilia receives these random hints because she has been living her life out of sequence. This issue began when she was a child, faded away, and then returned when she started walking the Witches Road.

The first time Lilia experienced this “time skip” was at Billy Kaplan’s Bar Mitzvah, where she cast a sigil on him before he tragically died in a car accident and was later merged with the reincarnated Billy Maximoff.

To complete her trial, Lilia needed to determine the positions of the coven members on the board and sadly accept her impending death. Just before the trial ended, she realized her path led to death. The last coven member on the board was represented by a Death card, confirming our suspicion that it was Rio Vidal.

However, this revelation came at a significant cost. Lilia was rarely wrong, and she was accurate when the cards foretold that her path led to death.

After the coven successfully completed the trial by fire, Lilia chose to stay behind. As you may know, Salem’s Seven have been haunting the coven since before they set out on the Witches Road.

Salem’s Seven are specifically targeting Agatha, as she is responsible for the deaths of their mothers and foremothers. Since the coven is aligned with Agatha, they become targets as well.

Remaining in the chamber where the trial was completed, Lilia understood that you should never overstay your welcome. She knew something bad would happen if she began to tamper with the cards again.

When she turned the tower card upright, the entire room flipped upside down, causing Salem’s Seven to literally fall onto the swords that were hanging from the ceiling.

The cost of her actions was that Lilia “fell” to her death as well, something she had predicted years ago but had refused to accept.

Lilia has lived a long life but failed to learn the lesson her Maestra tried to teach her: that death comes for us all. Only when Lilia accepts this and realizes she must sacrifice herself for Billy’s story to be complete can she fully master her abilities and gain control over her random time skips.
