Adam Levine and Shakira on ‘The Voice’NBC
The Voice is celebrating 25 seasons on NBC with the Season 25 finale, and it is remembering all the coaches who spun their chairs throughout the years.
Finale night started with a throwback performance from OG coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Blake Shelton. The quartet performed Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” which Green co-wrote, during the premiere episode of The Voice back in 2011.
After the performance, host Carson Daly read the names of the coaches who have appeared on The Voice over the past 25 seasons.
Blake Shelton has been the longest-running coach, spinning his chair for 23 seasons. Adam Levine was featured as a coach for the show’s first 16 seasons. Christina Aguilera was a permanent fixture in the first three seasons. She would then take a break and return for three more seasons, in Seasons 5, 8, and 10.
Green was a coach for the first three seasons and took a break for Season 4 before returning for Season 5 one final time as a coach.
Shakira and Usher joined the singing competition in Season 4 and reprised their roles in Season 6.
Gwen Stefani made her first appearance as a coach in Season 7. The No Doubt star has been on the show on and off, performing her duties as coach in Seasons 9, 12, 17, 19, 22, and 24. Stefani is set to return for Season 26.
Pharrell Williams joined the show in Season 7 and remained there through Season 10.
Miley Cyrus appeared as a coach for Seasons 11 and 13.
Alicia Keys was a coach in Seasons 11 and 12 and returned for Season 14.
Jennifer Hudson joined The Voice in Season 13 and went to also appear in Season 15.
Kelly Clarkson joined the reality competition in Season 14 and remained a coach through Season 21. She returned to coach Season 23.
John Legend joined Season 16 and remained through Season 22. He came back for Season 24 and Season 25.
Nick Jonas was featured as a coach in Seasons 18 and 20.
Ariana Grande took the chair for a spin in Season 20, while Camila Cabello did the same in Season 22.
Niall Horan did two consecutive seasons as a coach, Seasons 23 and 24.
Chance the Rapper joined Season 23 and returned for Season 25.
Reba McEntire has been a fixture as a coach on The Voice since joining Season 24, continuing in Season 25, and is set to reprise her duties for Season 26.
Dan + Shay joined Season 25 as the first coaching duo.
The list of The Voice coaches will get longer for Season 26 as Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé are set to join the reality competition alongside McEntire and Stefani.
