JoAnna Garcia Swisher couldn’t be more excited for her former Reba costars Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman!
It was announced in March that McEntire, 69, and Peterman, 53, were teaming up once again for an all-new sitcom called Happy’s Place. Heading to NBC on October 18, the series follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her late father’s restaurant and discovers her new business partner is a half-sister she never knew about.
The comedy series comes 17 years after they appeared on Reba from 2001 to 2007 for six seasons. McEntire and Peterman, as well as Garcia Swisher, starred alongside Steve Howey, Christopher Rich, Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman.
Given the big deal it is to see the two Reba alums-turned-longtime friends back together again on the small screen, it’s understandable why fans — and Garcia Swisher, herself — are looking forward to the momentous occasion. In fact, the Sweet Magnolias star is ready to support the duo’s latest endeavor.
“I told them the other day, I was like, I’m going to be there for the first taping and I’m going to be the audience member that’s going to laugh at all of their jokes,” says the actress, 44, who is teaming up Post-it® Brand and Scotch™ Brand for the launch of its ultimate all-in-one Back-to-School Countdown Kit. “Yes, I’m so excited for them.”

Noting how McEntire and Peterman are “just gold,” Garcia Swisher also believes that “with the addition of Rex and this great cast that’s around them, I think they’re going to have so much fun.”
“I know what the warmth of that set being led by Reba feels like,” she continues. “It’s just going to be a great experience. It’s such a gift. It was the perfect opportunity.”
As for whether she’d want to cameo down the road, the Ultimatum: Queer Love host says: “Yes, they know I would do anything for them!”
“A hundred percent, I would do the show. But more importantly, I’m just excited to go watch the show because I am really excited for all of them,” she adds. “It’s going to be great.”
In the meantime, Garcia Swisher has plenty to keep herself preoccupied. Not only does she have new seasons of Sweet Magnolias and Ultimatum: Queer Love to look forward to but she is excited about her partnership with Post-it® Brand and Scotch™ Brand for the launch of its ultimate all-in-one Back-to-School Countdown Kit.
The actress says it’s it’s been “one of my most favorite partnerships because these are products that I love and use and area huge part of my daily life.”

“So when Post-it and Scotch Brand approached me about the back-to-school countdown kit that they had planned to help parents be prepared for back to school in a way that they were excited about and fun and get kids involved, I was like, yes, I am completely in,” she shares. “I got my Back-to-School Countdown Kit a little early, so I got to tear into it and enjoy it. It has this really great little calendar that literally is a countdown, that talks about different things that you could do to be prepared for back to school. Also, really fun projects using Post-it and Scotch Brand products that are some of our favorites. It’s a really great kit.”
From July 11 through July 19, a limited quantity of events will be available via the Post-it website.
Reba can be streamed on Netflix and Happy’s Place premieres Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
