As a result, fans of the franchise took to social media to discuss the series with one fan pointing out one crucial missing detail. When examining the user’s observation in the context of some other information that has been dropped across the first two episodes, it seems like the series is setting up a devastating revelation. Here is what fans are saying about the first two episodes of Skeleton Crew.
Star Wars Fans Notice Crucial Missing Detail From Skeleton Crew
Skeleton Crew is a brand-new Star Wars series centering on four children from the planet At Attin who get lost in space. The series was created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford and received mostly positive reviews upon its premiere. It currently holds a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Did you notice the kids’ school only talked about “the Republic”? Not “the New Republic”?And the pirate specifically said Wim’s credit was an “Old Republic” one?
Meaning Wim probably doesn’t know about the Jedi dying in Order 66… pic.twitter.com/TPx1wjH2NW

The user certainly made a strong point considering the show’s timeline. The series is set in the post-Return of the Jedi period when shows like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka also take place. Since the New Republic is a major presence in this period, it is odd that the children are unaware of it.
Furthermore, the Old Republic coins also raise questions about the culture in the suburban “Barrier” of Al Attin, where the children were raised until they got lost in space. The coins are in mint condition, which further hints that the children might be unaware of the Jedi Order’s downfall as the user suggested.

These kids didn’t even realize that there were so many stars in the night sky. They’re planet is totally isolated from the rest of space it seems like, hidden behind this barrier.

When they talked about “Old Republic Credits” in the trailer, I knew they were on a planet that knows nothing of the Clone Wars or the Empire. Confirmed in the two episodes last night.

I’ve notice that as well, it would seems that the Kids World has been cut off from the rest of the Galaxy and does not know what has happened!!

It feels like the whole planet is some sort of social experiment.

As the tweets suggest, most fans are convinced that the planet is hiding something, with a significant portion of the galaxy’s history being kept a secret from the children.
The children idolize the Jedi Order, which has turned into a bit of a legend in this period. Therefore, it would make for a truly devastating revelation for the children to learn about the Jedi Order’s downfall and the horrors of Order 66. Watts had previously teased exploring the dangers lurking in the galaxy far, far away through the children, which further reiterates that the series is setting up a devastating revelation.
