Whatever you might think of her as a person, Kathleen Kennedy is one of the most important executives in Hollywood. She is the current head of Lucasfilm and is in charge of the Star Wars franchise, along with Disney. And while Star Wars has been a pillar of modern science-fiction for decades, several recent projects were not as successful and a lot of the fans are blaming Kennedy.
Kennedy has faced criticism over the years for some of her choices, which have apparently infuriated many fans. As a result, some of those fans are holding Kennedy solely responsible for the problems the series has been experiencing recently. Although there have been recent speculations that Kathleen Kennedy wants to retire, it appears she will continue to serve as CEO of Lucasfilm for the time being.
This has some of the fans confused, as they are not sure why Lucasfilm is still keeping Kennedy at the top despite the fact that several Disney-led Star Wars projects flopped or were underachievers, which led to a very interesting debate online, which we are going to report on here.
The roots of this debate are, as you might assume, in The Acolyte, which has recently been canceled. While a lot of “fans” were trashing the show for political and ideological reasons, the show did have its objective issues, which we have written about here on Fiction Horizon, and that is probably why it was canceled. But, as you might assume, many don’t think it’s because of that.
And while the fans are now leading a “campaign war” to both renew The Acolyte and remove it from the canon, depending on which side you’re on, some of the fans have decided to talk about Kennedy once again and they’re wondering how – amidst all the cancelations and changes – she manages to strive and remain on top of Lucasfilm:
Kathleen Kennedy needs to be removed from her post and replaced by someone who is an actual fan of the material.
She’s done nothing but tarnish the legacy of the original films. Heck, I’d take the prequel trilogy over her offerings any day of the week.

Worst news. Can we please get someone new to breathe some life into a franchise that has had 1 good movie and 1 good tv show in the last 10 years

Disney hasn’t learned the hard lesson yet apparently.
