The dynamic between Negan and Rick is a very passionate one, fueled by hatred and disgust. With the former being the antagonist to the latter’s protagonist, it is not surprising that the actors lose themselves in the dynamic that these two share. However, one would have never thought that things would get physical between Jeffery Dean Morgan and Andrew Lincoln.
During an interview with ComicBook, the Rick Grimes actor was talking about how much he loved being on the series. However, he did reveal that he regretted one thing that happened on set: Lincoln confessed that during one of their fighting sequences, things got a little too real for them.
It was fun, The only regret I have is I did actually punch him. He actually took it like a champ. I continued and we got through the night. It wasn’t my finest hour but the fight, I think, turned out quite well.

It would seem that the actor actually ended up punching Morgan while they were filming. Lincoln added that the actor took the punch very well; however, he did feel very guilty about it. The scene did end up being very good, but the moment wasn’t the highlight of his time on the series.
A Happy Accident?
The Walking Dead ran for eleven seasons and it gathered more than a few dislikable characters. Fans have plenty of options when looking for the character they hate the most. However, one does not have to think too long to know that Negan is the only right answer to this question.

Although Jeffery Dean Morgan is undoubtedly excellent in the role, the character has done some very questionable things. From mocking Glenn while he killed him to s*xual assault and having a body count higher than most on the series, there is no denying that fans absolutely despise the character.
With this, it is safe to say that many would be satisfied that Rick punched him, even though Morgan became a casualty in this situation.
The Walking Dead is available for streaming on Netflix
