Eric Lang, the creator of Mass Effect: The Board Game – Priority: Hagalaz, which is published by Modiphius Entertainment, attacked Mass Effect fans as “f***ing manbabies” after he claimed they started leaving negative reviews for the game due to it pushing gender ideology propaganda.
After a number of individuals began leaving 1 star reviews for the game on Board Game Geek, Lang took to X and called for his followers to leave positive reviews to “offset” the negative ones it was receiving.
He wrote on X in a now deleted post that was shared by Mark Kern aka Grummz, “I hate even talking about this on social media but if you played Mass Effect TBG, would you mind giving it a rating on BGG? To offset the *f***ing manbabies* trying to tank the rating with 1st because they can’t handle looking at pronouns on a character sheet.”
As noted by Lang and shared to X by Grummz, the game lists pronouns for the various Mass Effect characters.
While Lang has since deleted post, he did write another one, claiming he stands by his attack on gamers.
He wrote, “Deleted the stupid post because…well, you know. I hate deleting posts that I stand behind, but f**t it. Twitter suck so f***ing much.”
While he deleted the post on X, he did not delete one on Blue Sky expressing the same sentiment. He wrote, “I’m so proud of Mass Effect, and so endlessly tired of the F***ING MANBABIES who try and tank our BGG rating because … we took 10 seconds to add pronouns to the squadmates?”
He also shared the review break down revealing the game only had ten 1 star reviews compared to fourteen 10 star reviews.
In a subsequent post he revealed that following his comments attacking gamers and making people aware of the game, the 1 star reviews had increased from 10 to 52. He wrote, “this is what you get for letting your guard down for ONE SECOND and speaking in anger. f**k me I’m just tired.”
However, like Lang’s post to X those 1 star reviews have been deleted from Board Game Geek. Grummz reports, “They are banning accounts that vote 1 star. First your review is removed, and if you attempt to repost it, your account is locked.”
He continued, “I’m getting multiple reports that people leaving 1 star reviews on the Mass Effect: Priority Hagalaz board game are getting deleted on BoardGameGeek’s website. The designer called for people to brigade good reviews to offset the 1 star reviews left by “manbabies” (they were upset pronouns where added to iconic Mass Effect characters like Liara being marked as They/Them).”
“So far the 10 star brigading is allowed to stand, but the 1 star reviews are getting yeeted. Comparison shows that the number of 1 star review fell from 10 to 8, but it is claimed many more were deleted before the time of yesterday’s screen capture, you can see the list of in a screenshot below,” he added.
[UPDATE: They are banning accounts that vote 1 star. First your review is removed, and if you attempt to repost it, your account is locked.]

In a susbsequent post, Grummz added, “Over 40 Mass Effect 1 star reviews DELETED, Lead designer screenshot confirms. The designer for Mass Effect Priority Hagalaz has deleted his post on X calling ME fans ‘manbabies.’ However, he is still posting on blue, where he doubles down and inadvertently posted the number of 1 star reviews that existed prior to deletion.”
