Agatha All Along recently wrapped up with its last two episodes. The ending was bittersweet, tying up some character stories while leaving the door open for others to return to the MCU in the future.

The show is one of the best in the MCU, introducing many mysteries, Easter eggs, references, characters, and ideas, while beautifully exploring the magical and supernatural side of the MCU.

However, there’s one thing fans were hoping for that the show didn’t provide. Given Agatha’s and Billy’s connection to Scarlet Witch, many fans expected Wanda to make an appearance, even as a surprise cameo or Easter egg.

From the beginning, this seemed unlikely. Scarlet Witch is currently dead in the MCU—or rather, she’s presumed dead. No character has said she is completely gone, so they always leave it open-ended. This is one of the biggest mysteries in the MCU, and the studio probably wants to use it in a future movie.

There are strong rumors that Scarlet Witch will return and have a big role in upcoming Multiverse projects. If she is getting a solo film, it didn’t make sense to expect her to be brought back in Agatha All Along.

In fact, Schaeffer, the showrunner, made it clear early on that Scarlet Witch wouldn’t be in the show. The reason is quite simple: this is Agatha’s story.

There was a lot of consideration. That’s a great way of articulating it: her shadow. Agatha is not a character who’s going to stand in anyone’s shadow.

So this is emphatically Agatha Harkness’ show. However, we are in the WandaVision corner of the universe, so Wanda’s legacy has threads in this narrative. But, yeah, it is about Agatha. It’s about her journey, it’s about the truth of her, and that is very much our focus with the show.

Including Scarlet Witch in the show would take away from Agatha’s story. Yes, the show is a sequel to WandaVision, but there’s still so much more to learn about Agatha.

If you want to give each character enough attention to develop and wrap up their stories, you can’t include someone as big as Scarlet Witch right now. It’s also too soon to bring her back, especially since Billy has a new goal: to find his brother.

As mentioned, there are strong rumors that Scarlet Witch will return, whether in her own project or in the rumored Children’s Crusade storyline. The earliest we might see her mentioned or appear as a cameo could be in an upcoming show about White Vision. This show is said to be part of a trilogy along with WandaVision and Agatha All Along.
