“Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she okay? Get the heck out of here,” Scotty McCreery can be heard saying in a video from the concert.

Country music star and American Idol season 10 winner Scotty McCreery abruptly stopped his concert at the Colorado State Fair over the weekend after he saw a man in the crowd allegedly assault a woman.

Videos shared by attendees at the event on social media show the “It Matters to Her” singer stop his performance of the song — which he told the crowd is his wife’s favorite — for over two minutes while he called the man out and waited for authorities to help.

“Right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir,” McCreery, 30, can be heard saying in the video. “Absolutely not, who just hit the lady? Police? Security? Is she okay? Get the heck out of here.”

“On God’s green Earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” the singer said on stage while concert attendees pointed towards the man. “Y’all let the cop know who hit the lady. That’s absolutely unacceptable.”

He then checked in with the crowd and asked if they were okay, before adding, “That’s the definition of a coward, hitting a lady. Get the heck out of here, man.” From there, McCreery resumed the show. Reps for the singer did not immediately return an Entertainment Weekly request for comment.

It is unclear if the man involved in the alleged altercation was arrested. Officials with the Colorado State Fair did confirm the incident in a statement given to EW on Tuesday.

“We can confirm that an incident took place at the Scotty McCreery concert where a man assaulted a woman and the performer stopped the show,” Olga Robak, director of communications with The Colorado Department of Agriculture said. “Colorado State Fair security assisted with crowd control. This incident is still under investigation and we cannot comment further.”
