Kate Winslet recently shared that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has helped boost her libido while advising women on how to rejuvenate their sex lives.

The actress also emphasized embracing natural body shapes and aging, rejecting societal pressures to appear “perfect.”

Kate Winslet’s advice comes after she recalled a moment on set when she was told to sit straighter to hide her belly rolls, which she proudly refused.

Speaking on the “How To Fail” podcast, Winslet, who has been married to Edward Abel Smith since 2012, opened up about her improved sex life, revealing that she’s been undergoing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and credits the treatment for helping boost her libido.

On the podcast episode, the “Titanic” star shared her advice with a listener looking to reignite their sex drive while encouraging women to check their hormone levels if they’ve noticed a decline in libido.

“Sometimes women have a real dip in libido because there might be stuff going on with their thyroid,” she explained, per the New York Post. “There could also be stuff going on with your level of testosterone. Those things could have a direct impact on how you’re actually feeling.”

While many assume testosterone therapy is primarily for men, Winslet dispelled that myth.

She said, “A lot of people don’t know this, but women have testosterone in their body, when it runs out, like eggs, it’s gone, and once it’s gone you have to replace it and that is something that can be done and you’ll feel sexy again.”

“I know,” The actress added, “I know.”

Winslet emphasized that women shouldn’t blame themselves for the changes in their bodies as they age.

“It’s not your fault, our bodies are weird and they behave in strange ways especially as we get older,” she said. “So there could be a dip in those hormonal levels for you that is contributing much more than you think to how you’re feeling about having sex with your boyfriend, so I would definitely go ahead and do that.”

“The Mare of Easttown” actress, however, believes women become even more attractive with age. Reflecting on her own body, she said, “I’m great with it – I think I look flipping amazing. We have to own it, this is the thing.”

She added: “I think women, as they get older, get juicier and sexier and more embedded in their truth of who they are and more powerful, more able to walk through the world and careless and that is an empowering thing.”

Winslet also mentioned that she frequently reminds her friends how incredible they look, stating: “I say to my friends all the time ‘you look amazing, you look great.'”

Winslet has long been an advocate for women and body positivity, often speaking out against body shaming.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar UK, she recalled being advised to sit up straighter during the filming of “Lee” to conceal her “belly rolls.”

“There’s a bit where Lee’s sitting on a bench in a bikini,” she recalled. “And one of the crew came up between takes and said ‘You might want to sit up straighter.’ So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate.”

When asked about looking “less-than-perfect” on screen, Winslet confidently responded, “The opposite. I take pride in it because it is my life on my face, and that matters. It wouldn’t occur to me to cover that up.”

She added, “I’m more comfortable in myself as each year passes. It enables me to allow the opinions of others to evaporate.”

In a recent interview with the BBC, Winslet shared her thoughts on embracing natural body shapes after being advised to sit straight on a film set to hide her belly rolls.

Discussing her role in the film “Lee,” Winslet explained that her character, Elizabeth ‘Lee’ Miller, wasn’t focused on physical fitness, noting: “She wasn’t lifting weights or doing Pilates. She was eating cheese, and bread and drinking wine, and not making a big deal of it. So of course, her body would be soft.”

Winslet encouraged women to celebrate “being a real shape, being soft, and maybe having a few extra rolls.”

She noted: “We’re so used to perhaps not necessarily seeing that and enjoying it. The instinct weirdly is to see it and criticise it. It’s interesting how much people do like labels for women.”

Winslet said the topic is a conversation that needs to be had.

“Life is too short,” she stated, adding, “I don’t want to look back and go ‘why did I worry about that thing’ and so guess what – I don’t worry anymore.”

In an interview with the New York Times Magazine, Winslet discussed her lack of knowledge about the famous weight loss drug Ozempic.

She said, “I don’t know what Ozempic is. All I know is that it’s some pill that people are taking or something like that. But what is it?”

When informed that the drug is injected to suppress appetite for weight loss, the “Titanic” star reacted with shock, exclaiming, “Oh, my God. This sounds terrible. Let’s eat some more things!”

She then jokingly proceeded to enjoy a pastry. While reflecting on her own experiences with weight loss, Winslet addressed the harsh criticism she’s faced regarding her weight, revealing her past struggles with an eating disorder.

She emphasized that she now refuses to tolerate discussions about weight and promptly confronts anyone who brings it up.

The actress explained, per Daily Mail, “I never told anyone about it. Because guess what — people in the world around you go: ‘Hey, you look great! You lost weight!'”

“So even the compliment about looking good is connected to weight. And that is one thing I will not let people talk about. If they do, I pull them up straight away,” Winslet added.
