This is why we need season 5.

Emily in Paris season 4 spoilers follow.

Emily in Paris star Lucas Bravo has said he’s unsure if creator Darren Star knows how things will pan out for his character Gabriel and Emily.

Netflix’s second part of the fourth season dropped on the streaming platform this week, and sees a wrench thrown in between the on-and-off again couple in the shape of the supposed goat-herder Marcello.

During interviews ahead of the show’s part two release, Bravo spoke to Digital Spy about whether Gabriel and Emily are endgame, after their relationship briefly burned bright during the early episodes of the ten-part season.

In an exclusive interview, he said: “We won’t know until the last scene of the last season of the last episode. Anything else is in between.

“So, we will see. But I don’t have the answers. I’m not even sure Darren [Star] knows where this is going to end.”

He added: “I surely hope for Gabriel, rooting for my character, that he will get a happy, happy, romantic ending. He deserves to be loved.”

Bravo also teased the extent to which Agence Grateau newcomer Genevieve could impact Emily and Gabriel’s relationship, after she set her sights on the chef.

He said: “We lose Camille and subconscious manipulation, and we get conscious manipulation with Genevieve.

“So it’s just more drama to come and Gabriel is a bit naïve in that way. He doesn’t really spot those kinds of personalities because he trusts everyone. So it’s going to be chaotic again.”

That is, if we get a fifth season of the show. Netflix hasn’t given the go-ahead just yet, but with a fairly precipitous cliffhanger in the season four finale, it looks like there’s more of Emily’s story to tell.

Emily in Paris seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
