Agatha All Along Episode 4 has just premiered, and the musically themed installment unveiled the mysteries surrounding Alice’s family while leading the coven into the Trial by Fire.
This episode was particularly significant as it followed the loss of the coven’s fifth member, Sharon Hart, who died in Episode 3. While it was known that Rio Vidal was also a Green Witch and would eventually join the coven, the specifics of her integration remained a mystery.
Agatha and the rest of the coven realized they needed to “fill the gap” left by their fallen member, so they decided to use a powerful summoning spell. None of them knew what type of Green Witch they would summon, and Agatha was the most surprised when Rio Vidal crawled up from underground, quite literally.
Throughout the episode, Agatha and Rio engaged in constant bickering and hints about Rio’s true identity were subtly woven throughout. Just a few days ago, a Marvel merchandise leak revealed that Rio Vidal is actually Lady Death, but this information isn’t meant to be known at this point in the show.
The first clue came during the trial when Rio attempted to set up Agatha by making her state how expendable the coven is. In the studio, Rio led Agatha to claim that once their journey was complete, she would gain her power, while Rio would take the bodies of her “friends” from the coven.
Rio also suggested that Agatha was likely overdue for death, we must recall how she appeared in the first episode to seemingly kill her—a task she couldn’t accomplish due to Agatha’s powers.
Agatha requested a bit more time to reach the end of the Witches Road, but knowing her, she likely has something planned.
The most significant clue, however, relates to the Teen. He suffered serious injuries during this week’s trial and began bleeding profusely from a glass wound, choosing to keep it secret until they completed the trial.
After solving the puzzle, the Teen collapsed, prompting the coven to discover his injury. Agatha then turned to Rio and uttered the word “Don’t!”
It seems Rio intended to reap the Teen, but Agatha, aware of Rio’s true identity, intervened to save his life. It’s evident that Rio embodies Death, but how she came to attain that status remains a mystery.
Additionally, it’s unclear how she and Agatha met or how Rio became a Green Witch, given that she is the embodiment of decay—everything contrary to life.
