Constance Zimmer has joined the cast as Dana Berg, a ruthless prosecutor lifted straight from Michael Connelly’s The Law of Innocence — the novel that Season 4 is adapting. Dana isn’t just any adversary. She’s tenacious, sharp, and has zero interest in playing fair, earning herself the ominous nickname “Death Row Dana.” And this time, Mickey Haller isn’t defending the accused. He is the accused.
“Constance, oh my goodness, we had so much fun,” Garcia-Rulfo told Collider’s Christina Radish. “It was such a pleasure to have her. I really mean that. She’s not just very talented and a great actor, but she brings so much joy to the set. She has one of those personalities that is perfect to have around, and she puts that into her acting. That’s why she’s so good at everything.” But don’t let that on-set camaraderie fool you. In the courtroom, Dana Berg is out for blood — and she’s not just targeting Mickey professionally. She has a personal connection to Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell), Mickey’s ex-wife and a fellow legal eagle from the L.A. District Attorney’s office. That shared history adds another layer of emotional complexity to a case that’s already deeply personal for Mickey. After all, getting caught with a dead body in your trunk isn’t exactly a winning headline for a criminal defense attorney.
Who Is Constance Zimmer?
Zimmer’s casting marks her return to A+E Studios, the same team behind her Emmy-nominated performance on UnREAL. In the years since, she’s built a résumé filled with forceful, layered roles — from Big Sky to The Calling and Good Trouble — making her an inspired choice to bring Dana Berg’s cutthroat courtroom style to life.
This time, Zimmer will appear in all 10 episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4, which picks up directly after the Season 3 finale’s shocking twist: Mickey getting arrested for murder. The setup flips the entire premise of the show — the defense lawyer who operates out of his Lincoln now must defend himself from behind it.
