Speaking to a guest who had chosen to marry herself, Josie Gibson revealed she had tied the knot with her best friend at a festival, shocking co-star Dermot O’Leary.
After making it clear she was single and on the hunt for a beau, Josie Gibson admitted she was actually already married to her best friend Mia.
The Big Brother winner was back hosting This Morning on Wednesday, May 29, alongside Dermot O’Leary and the pair went on to chat with a guest who had decided to marry herself. During the segment, however, Josie announced that she had tied the knot with her pal during a festival.
While the nuptials may not have been legally binding, Josie recalled the ceremony as pictures of the event were aired on screens. “Everybody turned up, because the night before, I’d invited everybody”, she remembered. “I thought it might be the closest thing I ever have to a wedding.”

Josie’s fans may remember that she walked down the aisle with Mia in August, 2023 at Camp Bestival. This prompted Dermot to call Josie out for not introducing her friend Mia as her wife. He jokingly continued: “I didn’t know! Congratulations!”
Josie was previously said to be “desperate” to find love again, particularly after her friend and This Morning co-star Alison Hammond embarked on a romance of her own with Russian masseur David Putman. The lovebirds showcased their relationship on social media and, despite their age gap, have been enjoying a drama-free romance in recent months.
“Josie desperately wants to find love too, it’s all she’s ever wanted. She’s got her dream job on This Morning but her real hope is to settle down”, a source close to the TV personality told OK! Magazine earlier this year. “She’s so happy for Alison and is hoping that this guy is the right one. Seeing Alison happy does make Josie want the same for herself.”
Another insider added: “Josie would love to double date with Alison and have them both find their happily ever after. They’ve both had such similar experiences so she’s hoping that this is it for Alison and hopefully it will be for her too.”
Josie first shot to fame on Big Brother in 2010, but throughout her years in the spotlight, her love life has been known to be nothing short of eventful, with a string of ill-fated relationships, much like Alison. Following her victory in the reality series, she went on to date her BB housemate John James Parton for less than a year.
She then moved on with a property developer named Terry, with whom she shares a son, Reggie James, born in 2018. Sadly, despite knowing one another for several years prior, the pair parted ways five months after the birth.
Speaking to New! Magazine, Josie then revealed the sad details of their separation, claiming Terry had kicked her out of their home on New Year’s Eve after a heated argument. This forced her and baby Reggie to turn to a hostel for shelter.
“He’s got OCD and just after Christmas, he went mad about too many of my shoes being in the hallway”, she’d remembered. “So I kicked off and said, ‘Well, we’ll go then!’ And he went, ‘Alright’, and bagged up our stuff. So Reggie and me headed to a hotel.”
More recently, Josie ignited romance rumours along with Stephen Mulhern when the pair were caught holding hands at the BBC Studios. But the duo have since dismissed the rumours, stating they were simply good friends.
