Carrie Underwood shared a sweet throwback photo on social media on Monday (June 29) to celebrate the legendary career of country music icon Alan Jackson.
The American Idol judge was one of the many performers who took to the stage for Jackson’s farewell concert in Nashville this past weekend. Jackson is hanging up his guitar due to his now 15-year battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a condition that impacts the peripheral nerves.
Underwood marked the occasion by sharing a childhood photo on Instagram, which showed her posing in front of a Jackson poster. “Life has a way of coming full circle. The very first concert I ever attended was @officialalanjackson back in 1994, and it changed my life,” she wrote.
“This little girl posing in front of his poster could have never imagined she’d one day be standing on stage at his farewell concert, celebrating this legendary artist whose music has been such a big part of her life,” Underwood continued. “What an incredible and unforgettable night. I soaked up every moment…and we all sang along to every word!”
