On Tuesday, July 29, the official Instagram of the steakhouse shared a video of Travis and Mahomes tasting a few butter offerings and steak cuts that will be available at the developing restaurant.
The tasting butters included white truffle, chiles toreados, bone marrow, garlic and hibiscus, along with truffle soy and chimichurri.
“I could just tell from the first bite that that was going to be a ‘yeah,’” Mahomes says in the video after reaching for more of one of the butters. Travis, amazed by the flavors, leans back in his chair and, as he points to one of the butters and says to Mahomes, “You need some of that, dog.”
1587 Prime Steakhouse, whose name is inspired by the Super Bowl champions’ jersey numbers, will occupy 10,000 square feet and two floors on the lower levels of the Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City, Kan.
In an official statement shared back in March 2024, Mahomes said of the culinary venture, “Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City.”
1587 Prime was originally set to open early 2025. No official opening date has been released.
