Eminem Calls 50 Cent ‘One of the Best Friends I’ve Ever Known’ at Surprise Concert Appearance
At the Michigan stop on 50 Cent’s Final Lap tour, celebrating 20 years of Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the rappers performed their collaboration “Crack a Bottle”
50 Cent’s 2003 album Get Rich or Die Tryin’ featured two separate appearances from Eminem, a major co-sign that marked the early moments of their collaborative relationship. When the Final Lap tour, an anniversary run for the breakthrough record’s 20th year, made its way to Michigan this weekend, it was only fitting that the Detroit native hit the stage with 50 Cent to celebrate.
During the surprise appearance at Pine Knob Amphitheater in Clarkston, Michigan, the rappers performed “Crack a Bottle,” the lead single from Eminem’s 2009 comeback album Relapse. Firing up the crowd, they ran through the song sans Dr. Dre, who appears on the original recording.

“Don’t fucking act like you ain’t know I was gonna be here,” Eminem told the audience. “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known: 50 Cent. And also, make some noise for hip-hop’s 50th birthday, y’all.”
Earlier this year, 50 Cent mentioned that Eminem hit him up about getting in the studio with Dr. Dre, but no concrete release plans have been shared. “I started to find material that can get things going because I always like to find material I think is hot before I go to Dre and Em. [I like to figure out] what I would like the record to feel like, the body of it, and then I can find pieces that I need while I’m around them,” the rapper told Rolling Stone. “And then I go back and finish up and get the whole thing done. I need to make something that creatively is coming from me so it has to have the pieces.”
