Presenter Emma Willis shared how she and Busted star Matt Willis continue to make their long-standing marriage work, after 16 years

Emma Willis said she “won’t allow” a divorce to happen between herself and husband Matt Willis, whom she married in 2008.
The pair are one of showbiz’s strongest couples, but it certainly hasn’t been an easy ride along the way, mostly due to Matt’s periods of drink and drug addiction.
During these challenging times, Emma, 49, committed to helping him through his troubles and has been a pillar of support ever since.
With their relationship evolving over time, the presenter emphasised the importance of working on their marriage.
Sharing her thoughts, she said: “Matt and I are always working on our marriage. The wedding isn’t the destination, it’s the lasting part that is.
“As we’ve gotten older and more mature and settled, we have realised that as long as we communicate, we can avoid sitting on resentments or creating the kind of environment that leads to getting divorced.”
On the topic of divorce, she previously added to The Guardian: “I won’t allow that to happen to us – and I won’t let him do it either!”.
The former Big Brother presenter affectionately refers to Matt as her “jigsaw piece”, who she praises for his charismatic nature and unpredictability.

Gushing over her spouse further, she said he’s “fit as you like” and “the most phenomenal dad”.
The couple first met back in 2004 when she was presenting on MTV and he was storming the charts with his band Busted.
After securing his number from Simon Webb of Blue, their love story unfolded and by 2008 they were married.
The pair are now also proud parents to three children, Isabelle, Ace, and Trixie, who they keep out of the public eye.
Emma jokes that while Matt is also like her “fourth child”, she respects “him more than anyone” and “would do anything” to ensure he’s happy.
She further claimed that the pair are not ones for “traditionally romantic” gestures, pointing out that she’s all for cake instead of flowers.
The duo hit a new stride last year, hosting the UK adaptation of Love Is Blind together.
Mixing both their personal and professional worlds is something the pair found “wicked” and they have since been announced a new series.
In the mean time, catch Emma on Comic Relief: 40 Years of Funny, airing tonight at 10.40pm on BBC One.
