Emma Willis was reportedly offered the chance to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning but turned it down
Emma Willis reportedly sent a message to ITV bosses after making a decision to spend more time with her children and her husband Matt Willis.
The Daily Mail shared that Emma would rather make the most of her time with her family, and working with her husband Matt Willis, 41, in light of his rumoured recent struggles.
A source close to the couple divulged: “She wants time with her family, and that’s why she’s taking every chance to work with Matt.”
Insiders reveal this move is partly due to fears surrounding Matt’s previous experiences, as loneliness is thought to have contributed to a relapse.
A confidant mentioned: “They are acutely aware Matt’s last relapse was triggered by being alone and away from his family. Emma is keener than ever to work with him and keep him on the straight and narrow,” reports the Mirror.

This information comes shortly after Matt and Emma opened up about their worries regarding the influence of smartphones on their three children, Isabelle, 15, Ace, 13, and Trixie, eight.
The couple is delving into this modern parental nightmare through a new Channel 4 documentary called ‘Swiped: The School That Banned Smartphones’, which investigates the effects of a smartphone ban at a school and considers if such a prohibition might benefit kids under 14.
At a panel earlier this month, Emma discussed her personal reasons for getting involved in the documentary project. Emma has confessed to being a “technophobe” yet sees learning about the digital sphere as a crucial parental duty.
“I am such a technophobe, so it felt like the perfect opportunity for me to learn about this world. None of us grew up with this, but they are, so my responsibility as a parent is to learn about the world that they are living in, because that is the only way I can help them navigate it,” she disclosed.
Matt Willis, from Busted, told The Indepdent he underwent a revelation after scrutinising his kids’ use of technology. He said: “I cannot see any safe way of having this in a child’s pocket and I didn’t go into this experiment thinking that. I thought we would just need age regulations on social media or something, but the more we go through this process, I cannot see any safe way or logical way for a kid to have a smartphone.”
Emma Willis, 48, along with her partner Matt, isn’t alone in researching the repercussions of smartphone withdrawal in children. A groundbreaking study from the University of York recently found that ditching smartphones can lead to improved slumber and better moods in youngsters.
Commenting on the significant findings, Professor Lisa Henderson from the University posited: “This experiment incorporated a much longer abstinence period than previous studies, allowing us to see how a smartphone ban in school could impact on sleep, wellbeing, cognitive abilities, and alertness. The results showed that a smartphone ban in children under the age of 14 could have a positive impact on sleep, and connected to improved sleep, a boost in overall mood.”
Emma Willis’ representatives have been contacted for a statement.
