‘Harder to hide’: Today show host Sarah Abo shares huge personal news
Today co-host Sarah Abo has broken down on live television while sharing a huge personal announcement.
Congratulations are in order for Today co-host Sarah Abo, who announced this morning that she is pregnant with her first child.
The 40-year-old host broke down as she revealed she and husband Cyrus Moran are about to be parents.
“I’m going to try and fail to maintain my composure. But yes, Cyrus and I are expecting a little baby,” she shared live on-air during Wednesday’s program.

The journey to motherhood hasn’t been an easy one, with Sarah sharing details about their struggle to fall pregnant.
“I know, it’s obviously very happy news and everything … It hasn’t been the easiest journey to get here, which a lot of people I know have gone through and will go through,” she added.
“It’s not as easy as you sometimes think that pregnancy will be.
“So, it has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but here we are. And yes, it’s getting harder to hide. As much as I’d like to bury my head in the sand and not address it, I think, yeah, we’re almost halfway now.”

Sarah and her steel mill trader husband have been married since 2012, with the breakfast show host preferring to keep her private life – including her partner – out of the spotlight.
Earlier this year, she opened up to Stellar’s Something To Talk About podcast, revealing why she prefers to keep her relationship private.

“It’s not as though he’s hiding. It’s just that he’s not in the media,” she explained.
“For some reason that seems to be hard to understand for some people. It’s like no, mate, I’ve got a weird job and a weird life, but he doesn’t.”

Prior to her happy announcement, Today co-host Karl Stefanovic could sense Sarah’s nervous energy and joked: “we’re getting married!” It was the exact mood shifter needed before Sarah launched into her personal news.
A tearful Karl also took the time to acknowledge how hard it has been for Sarah and Cyrus in recent months, trying to fall pregnant, enduring heartbreaking miscarriages, while also dominating the news headlines over her ongoing role on the show.

“You came to work. Your strength and courage during that was unbelievable, and I just wanted to say that you fought that on your own with only a couple of people knowing. And to get here…” he said.
“It was this time last year where we had our last pregnancy loss and there was one obviously before that so that’s why I’ve also been so cautious about sharing this news which obviously I’m so thrilled to be sharing this news with you all and you at home,” she added.
“I’m still terrified I think. I’m still finding it hard to believe that it’s happening. I will lean in and enjoy it.”

Fighting back his own tears, Karl also shared how hard it has been for him and wife Jasmine to extend their own family – allowing him to completely feel every one of his co-hosts emotions.

“We lost a couple as well and you sit there and you go, as a man, you sit there and you go ‘what could I have done? What did I do wrong?’ and all of those questions come for you and so I don’t want to dwell on that but you were there for Jasmine mainly, and also for me.”
Sarah, who later posted an adorable bump update on Instagram, also confirmed on the program that it wasn’t until recently that the couple shared the news with their families.
“They all shed a tear of course. When you’re a 40-year-old woman and pregnant this far along for the first time, it’s not something that just happens overnight.”
