On Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, presenters Ed Balls and Susanna Reid detailed the latest headlines to ITV viewers before a fasmiliar face returned

Good Morning Britain viewers were thrilled to learn a familiar face was making their way back into the studio on Monday’s show. At the beginning of the programme, host Susanna Reid confirmed her former co-star Piers Morgan was coming back.
Speaking to Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire, Susanna said: “Piers put on Twitter that he was coming in, he mentioned the number of days since he walked out of Good Morning Britain. Has he got a counter at home that is counting up the days since he was last on this programme?”
As Ed told viewers it’s been 1,453 days since Piers was on the show, an image of Piers storming out the studio appeared on screen as Susanna added: “There’s a reminder for anyone where it’s not etched on their memory, that particular moment.”

Sharing a clip of Susanna and Ed on the show, Piers took to X and tweeted: “@GMB looks exciting today! See you soon @susannareid100 – and try not to cry tears of happiness.”
It wasn’t long before people watching commented on Piers’ return, with many thrilled to see him back.
One person said: “I’ll watch again now!” Someone else wrote: “Hopefully a step closer to getting your old job back, GMB has never been the same since you departed.”
Another commented: “Let’s go so happy.” One viewer tweeted: “Sounds like a fun show! Looking forward to it!”

One excited fan said: “I love reunions!” While another commented: “Excited, looking forward.”
Someone else wrote: “Brilliant, and just at the right time. Good luck, not that you need it.” With another adding: “Congrats, Piers! Wishing you a great, successful, and inspiring comeback on ITV! Much appreciation.”
In 2021, Piers came to blows with weather presenter Alex Beresford after the pair clashed over Meghan Markle’s interview with US chat show host Oprah Winfrey.
It was clear Alex had had enough of Piers’ swipes towards Meghan as he said: “I think we all need to take a step back and I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’ve made it so clear a number of times on this programme, a number of times.

“I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or you had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has and yet you continue to trash her.”
Piers, not having any of it, stood up from his desk and commented: “I’m done with this. See you later. Sorry, I can’t do this.” He then left the studio, leaving Susanna to host the remainder of the show solo.
Although Alex was announcing the weather this Monday, it didn’t go unnoticed by viewers that he was on location, not in the studio with Piers.
