Huge update in Nancy Guthrie case as new Ring footage could hold answers
Nancy Guthrie
There is a new update in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie involving new Ring camera footage.
It’s Day 26 in the search for the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show anchor Savannah Guthrie, and new footage has emerged in the case. According to Fox News Digital, there’s a new video from a nearby neighbor’s home that shows vehicles passing by on the morning of Nancy’s abduction. The outlet reported that the previously unseen footage showed 12 vehicles driving by. The recording happened between midnight and 6 a.m. on February 1.
Fox News said that “some of the activity” occurred near 2:30 a.m., which is close to the 2:28 timestamp that authorities said Nancy’s pacemaker last transmitted data to her iPhone. One of their videos was specifically recorded at around 2:36 a.m. on February 1, which means it was 8 minutes since her pacemaker last synced. It comes after a mystery man who claimed he “saw Nancy 5 days ago” offered chilling new proof.
The residents who shared the video, Elias and Danielle Stratigouleas, told the outlet that police have not canvassed their neighborhood in the 25 days that Nancy is believed to have been taken from her home against her will. The homeowners live 2.5 miles from Nancy, and their residence is on a back road that leaves Nancy’s neighborhood as well as avoids major intersections.
The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have reportedly been notified about the video. It is not known whether the video is being used in the investigation, or whether the vehicle seen around the time Nancy disappeared was on her street before.
Previous residents told the outlet that they had noticed separate unidentified men in the area before and after Nancy’s disappearance. One of the neighbors also mentioned spotting a dark red Honda near Camino Real a day after Nancy’s abduction. She said it remained there for a couple of days after officials examined it.
This recently released footage comes as the FBI released photos and a video of a masked individual on Nancy’s footsteps on February 10. The masked individual is suspected of abducting Nancy, and they were seen wearing a backpack that the FBI said was a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack one. They were also wearing gloves, a gun holster, with a jacket, pants and sneakers.

Investigators have recovered DNA from a glove found near Nancy’s home that matches the one the suspect was seen wearing in her Nest camera video.
The profile was submitted to the FBI’s DBA database, called Combined DNA Index System (CoDIS), and the Pima Sheriff Chris Nanos said there was no match in the system. Officials are planning to utilize investigative genetic genealogy to aid in figuring out the DNA.
This process has been used before to crack high-profile cases, such as identifying the Golden State Killer and the man who murdered four University of Idaho students in 2022.
Nancy has been reported missing since February 1 and was last seen on January 31. Savannah recently shared in a video on February 24 that the family is offering an a reward of up to $1 million for any information leading to Nancy’s recovery. They are also donating $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
