Hailie has shared the touching reason why her dad’s songs make her emotional

EMINEM’S daughter Hailie Jade has revealed why her dad’s songs bring her to tears.

The rapper, who is known for his punchy tracks and raw lyrics, might not always be associated with bringing people to tears – but for his daughter, his tracks definitely do.

Hailie Jade Scott Mathers, who is an actress and musician herself, has shared that her father Eminem’s music can make her cry within an instant.

The 28-year-old has candidly spoken out and shared how she was impacted by the rapper’s new hit Somebody Save Me, which is a collaboration with country music star Jelly Roll.

Hailie also mentioned the song Temporary, which features singer Skylar Grey and is a tribute to Hailie.

Speaking on her podcast Just a Little Shady, Hailie shared why she became emotional when listening to her father’s music.

“Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I guess I’ll say watched, but I refused to watch again — the Somebody Save Me music video is out and I did watch the thing,” she said.

“I don’t think I can do it again,” she admitted, “I definitely cry every time I hear it at all.”

Eminem included footage of Hailie in the Somebody Save Me music video, with him rapping about his daughter.

In Somebody Save Me, Eminem raps, “Hailie, I’m so sorry I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital.”

“Missed the birth of your first child / Your first podcast, lookin’ down, sweetie,” he adds.

“I’m so proud of how you turned out / Sorry that I chose drugs and put ’em above you.

“Sorry that I didn’t love you enough to give ’em up / how the f**k do I not love you more than a pill? Lookin’ up to the ceilin’ from this floor, wonder will.”

Meanwhile, in the track Temporary, he raps, “Yeah, and you will get over me and move on.

“You can play me on repeat on a song / But don’t you dare shed a tear, what’d I tell you?

“Straighten up, little soldier,’ them times when I held you / Jade, it’ll be okay, baby, I’m here, hey.

“I’m watching you right now, baby girl, I vow / I will protect you, your guardian angel,” he emotionally raps.

Hailie, who is one of three children welcomed by Eminem and his ex-wife Kim Scott, continued, “Watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job.

“Growing up, where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about.

“I think that’s why I get emotional so much, just thinking that that could have happened.”

ROCKY RELATIONSHIP

Hailie’s mother Kim and her father Eminem’s relationship began in the late 1980s when they were both teenagers.

The couple welcomed Hailie on Christmas Day in 1995, and the rapper said becoming a father was a “wake-up call.”

Eminem and Kim then wed in June 1999, but he soon left to go on tour with the couple rocked by cheating allegations.

In 2001, they split, and Kim began dating Eric Hartter, but just three years later, Kim was back with Eminem.

I audibly sobbed.

But their relationship did not last, and Eminem filed for divorce after they remarried again.

FOND MEMORIES

Hailie added that she thought it was nice to see clips of herself and her siblings when they were younger, but added that she gets emotional when listening to her dad’s music.

“The older I get,” she said, “the less I can listen to any of the songs.”

“Between that and Temporary, okay, well, that I listened to and it broke me. I audibly sobbed I think for both songs, but especially Temporary,” she added.
