Some viewers flocking to social media to question the show’s format

Some viewers of The Voice UK were left feeling disappointed as the latest series concluded. Emma Willis presented Saturday’s finale, where this season’s champion was declared.
The episode saw the return of coaches Sir Tom Jones, LeAnn Rimes, will. i.am, Tom Fletcher, and Danny Jones for the climactic showdown. The final four contestants—Ava, Billy and Louis, Deb-Ora, Storry—gave their all in a series of performances to wrap up this year’s competition on The Voice UK.
Each act also joined their respective coach for a special duet, marking their final appearance on stage for the season. While fans on social media platform X were excited by the concluding performances, confusion arose when Emma Willis announced that the winner would be determined by a studio vote.
This revelation led to disappointment among viewers on X who believed the decision should have been made through a public vote, expressing their discontent at not being able to influence the outcome of this season’s winner. Elle expressed her dismay, “So we can’t vote? Should have been live.”, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Hussey echoed the sentiment, “I think the Public should vote on #TheVoiceUK not the audience” John added his critique, “Not even a live studio audience and doesn’t seem the biggest too. Disappointing for a final. Plus no public vote.”
Mason suggested an improvement, “Wouldn’t it be so much better if The Voice UK semi-Finals and Final were actually Live? At least then we can vote and get involved in the show.”
@allthingsitv questioned the format, “Why cant we have a live show”.
Emma announced that Ava was the champion of The Voice UK 2024. Coached by Tom and Danny throughout the season, her victory was met with delight from many fans.
Cath expressed: “Ava was the best on the night.”
Mary Lou chimed in with: “Congratulations #Ava! A deserving winner! ” Lamont posted: “A very talented winner for this years #TheVoiceUK I hope the label really gets behind Ava.”
Kerry added: “Whoop whoop huge congratulations Ava the right winner” while Mason commented: “I’m so happy that Ava won thevoiceuk bless her and congratulations @TomFletcher and Danny for their first ever win as coaches! “.
