They were so powerful back in the day that even the Kennedy clan was considered too new-money for them
KRISTIN Cabot, the alleged mistress at the centre of the Coldplay kiss cam scandal, has ties to a family so rich they’re considered royalty in the US.
The HR chief, caught cuddling with now-former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, is married into one of the most elite and wealthy dynasties in American history.

The Cabots are known in Boston lore as so highborn they “speak only to God”, the New York Post reports.
Social media posts and property records indicate Cabot is married to Andrew Cabot, sixth-generation heir to the Privateer Rum fortune.
His family lineage stretches back ten generations in New England and includes privateers, industrial titans, and merchant traders who helped shape American aristocracy.
The Cabots are one of Boston’s original “Brahmin” families – a blue-blooded elite so powerful that even the Kennedy clan was considered too new-money to join their ranks.
A poem still recited in New England society circles famously sums it up: “And this is good old Boston, the home of the bean and the cod, where the Lowells talk only to Cabots, and the Cabots talk only to God.”
The family made its fortune in “carbon black” – soot used in car tires – and held vast holdings in Cabot Corporation.
A 1972 New York Times profile valued the clan’s wealth at over $200million – which would amount to a staggering $15.4billion today.
Their empire has included chemicals, paint, gas, and rum — with prestigious institutions like Harvard and MIT among their charitable beneficiaries.
Kristin Cabot, who once served as an “advisory board member” for Privateer Rum, and Andrew Cabot recently purchased a $2.2 million home on the New Hampshire coast, according to property filings.
This appears to be the second marriage for both — Kristin’s prior divorce was finalised in 2022, the New York Post reports.

Agonising moment tech CEO Andy Byron is caught ‘cheating’ with his HR chief at Coldplay gig as pair cuddle on big screen
New vid shows CEO Andy Byron and HR chief kissing & cuddling BEFORE awkward kiss cam moment at Coldplay gig
Property records obtained by the Daily Mail from earlier this year list the couple as “husband and wife”.
But her wedding ring was not visible during the Coldplay concert.
The scandal exploded after Cabot and Byron were caught canoodling on the stadium’s giant screen in front of thousands of Coldplay fans at a gig in Boston.
As frontman Chris Martin cheekily joked “They’re either having an affair… or they’re very shy,” Byron ducked behind a barrier and Cabot quickly shielded her face.
As he caught view of himself, Byron appeared to say “f****** hell, it’s me”.
Martin added, laughing nervously: “Oh s***, I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
The following evening, Martin cracked a joke with another couple on the kiss cam after accidentally catching the tech boss allegedly cheating with his HR chief.
Longer footage has since dropped, showing the full reaction of panicked “mistress” Cabot, with another clip showing the pair kissing before getting caught.
Byron has since resigned from Astronomer – an AI company valued at over $1.3billion.
In a statement announcing his departure, the firm said: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard… and recently, that standard was not met.”

Cabot, listed as Chief People Officer, was placed on leave.
Before the viral moment, Byron had praised her as a “proven leader” with “deep expertise in talent management”.
Cabot previously boasted on her LinkedIn profile that she “wins trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”
According to Axios, both execs were being investigated internally, and Byron was said to be negotiating an exit package.
Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.
Meanwhile, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, has scrubbed his surname from social media and deleted her accounts entirely.
The chaos has rippled through Astronomer, with employees and ex-staffers reacting with glee and disbelief.
“Group chats were blowing up,” one former colleague told the New York Post.
“People were laughing their a** off.”
The executive was described as a “sales-obsessed” leader with a reportedly “toxic” management style.
Social media has also been flooded with memes and fake statements from Byron and Coldplay.
A fake post attributed to Coldplay suggested they would introduce “camera-free zones” for concertgoers with “sidepieces”.
The fan who captured the original kiss cam moment told The U.S. Sun she had no idea the couple were senior tech executives.
She said: “I just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it. A part of me feels bad… but, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”
