TheĀ Season 2 finale ofĀ LandmanĀ has come and gone. And with it, the story of the Norris clan got a happy ending that is also a new beginning. Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) has a new business venture and a new lease on life. And so, now that the show is gearing up for Season 3, it makes sense that nothing will be exactly the same again.
But what do we know aboutĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 at this point? What will it be about? When will it be released? And just how involved will Taylor Sheridan be this time around? Here’s what we’ve got onĀ LandmanĀ Season 3, so far.Ā Mild spoilers ahead forĀ LandmanĀ Season 2.
IsĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 Confirmed?
Yes,Ā LandmanĀ Season 3 is 100 percent happening. In an interview withĀ The Hollywood Reporter, co-creatorĀ Christian Wallace saidĀ that Season 3 will be a “reset,” of sorts. But it is 100 percent happening, and Taylor Sheridan has already started writing the scripts.
What WillĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 Be About?
Despite the happy ending in Season 2, Wallace has noted that if you’ve “watched enough TV,” you know that Season 3 won’t be all sunshine and roses. “We have these characters entering into different dynamics with one another,” Wallace explained in the sameĀ THRĀ interview. “It’s now family-run, very small, starting from almost scratch. Thatās a whole new dynamic for them.”
Speaking toMen’s JournalĀ in 2025, Thornton noted that he has a sense that Season 3 will blend aspects of Season 1 and Season 2. “I have a feeling a lot of things are really going to ramp up…Because the first season was so full of action stuff and danger. The second season was full of the family and business relationships,” Thornton speculated. “Taylor plays it very close to the vest… Right now, I donāt know anything.”
What About Taylor Sheridan Leaving Paramount?

In 2025, it was reported by several outlets that Taylor Sheridan was ending his contract with Paramount and moving into a new deal with NBC/Universal. According to insiders, Sheridan’s jumping ship had as much to do with money as it did with some of his frustration with Paramount not greenlighting some of his projects. It’s aĀ complicated situation,Ā but the truth is, Sheridan won’t start his new contract until 2029, after his current contract ends with Paramount in 2028.
So, for now, that means Sheridan is very much working onĀ LandmanĀ Season 3.
What is theĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 Release Date?

As of this writing, we don’t know whenĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 will hit. But, based on Sheridan’s contract, it seems that 2027 or 2028 is a good bet. CouldĀ LandmanĀ Season 3 arrive before the end of 2026? Well, even though the Norris clan is all about gambling, we wouldn’t bet on it.
