Kyle Turner is tradingĀ the Yosemite National Park for the paradise of Hawaii in the upcoming second season ofĀ Untamed, and production is officially underway.Ā Hereās what we know so far aboutĀ UntamedĀ season 2 on Netflix.
UntamedĀ is a Netflix Original crime drama series co-created by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith. One of July 2025āsĀ most popular releases,Ā UntamedĀ has already proven to be one of Netflixās best new shows of 2025 and has earned anĀ order for a second season, despite debuting as a limited series.
In fact, compared to other limited series that debuted on Netflix in 2025, the series is only defeated by the multi-Emmy award-winning seriesĀ Adolescence. The series stars Eric Bana as Kyle Turner, a federal agent of the National Park Service, who investigates the mysterious death of a woman in the vast expanse of Californiaās Yosemite National Park.
What can we expect fromĀ UntamedĀ season 2?
The biggest change weāll see inĀ UntamedĀ season 2 is the location. Moving on from the mountains of the Yosemite National Park, Kyle Turner will be heading to one of the national parks of Hawaii, where a brand new, challenging case awaits him.

Thanks to anĀ extensive TUDUM interviewĀ with series co-creators Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, weāve known for months about the plans to find Kyle Turner a new challenge in an exciting new location.
āWeāve done Yosemite. Whatās the next park that could feel different from that? Each national park has such a different cultural identity, geographical identity. Being able to explore those places through the case and through Turnerās journey is whatās so fascinating.
Our theme has been that this park is our main character this park is sort of alive. We do want to maintain that thread. Whichever park we choose will be a character, and it will kind of play a role in Turnerās emotional frame of mind.ā

This next season will take Kyle Turner into an unfamiliar environment, where he will have been to several other National Parks, taking on numerous cases, before landing in Hawaii.
āThis wonāt be the first park heās been in since Yosemite. Heās been to a lot of parks. Heās been busy, taking on a lot of cases. This will be the latest and itāll be more impactful for him.
Turner was so comfortable in Yosemite. He was the one leading this charge, and people followed him. And now, [weāre] putting Kyle on his back foot, making him very uncomfortable ā¦ This time we get to follow Turner into a park and let him lead us, and we stumble along with him as heās kind of finding his way.
Weāre going to make sure we populate it with characters that are interesting and help him in ways both good and bad.āĀ
Who are the cast members of Untamed season 2?
With such a radical change in location coming, we expect Eric Bana to be the only cast member to reprise their role from the first season. With the season moving to Hawaii, we would expect a diverse cast of native Hawaiian and Polynesian actors.
