Emily in Paris has (unsurprisingly) followed the protagonist on her journey of moving to the capital city of France and finding her way through work and love without any knowledge of the French language or culture. Perhaps it’s rare that a show relocates like this, especially when the title is this detailed, but this Netflix series takes its main character to a whole new city after four seasons. Clearly, Emily has a major adventure in front of her. The release date is rapidly approaching, so let’s take a look at everything we know about Season 5 of Emily in Paris so far.
What Will ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 Be About?

The fourth season of Emily in Paris was filled with cringe moments, but it perfectly set up the continuation of the protagonist’s story and a welcome change of scenery. To stay true to the essence of Emily in Paris, Season 5 will, of course, put Emily right back into a love triangle. Deleting her Instagram handle apparently doesn’t automatically erase all her love chaos. While she is dedicated to having a fresh start in the new city with her romantic new beau (or ragazzo), heartthrob Gabriel is chasing after her. There will be many new tensions, as Emily and Sylvie always have some sort of issues lingering between them, and the language barrier follows the American around wherever she goes.
Emily leaving Paris might sound like the end of an era, but perhaps it was just time for a new era. The binge-worthy series is known for showing some of the most beautiful locations. There have been plenty of wonderful spots in the first few seasons, but Season 5 will unlock new, exciting places. Rome hits differently, and it is the perfect contrast to Paris. There is no need to worry, because Paris will always be there. Also, who knows, Emily’s shenanigans in Italy might even be better and more thrilling than the ones in France.
The Cast and Release Date of ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5

Lily Collins will reprise her role of Netflix’s fashion icon, Emily Cooper (surprise, surprise), and she will be joined by Ashley Park, who plays Mindy, Emily’s best friend, and Lucas Bravo, who portrays Gabriel, Emily’s initial love interest. Of course, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu‘s Sylvie will also be back, because she’s the real star of the show. Samuel Arnold will return as Julien, Bruno Gouery will step back into his role as Luc, and Lucien Laviscount will return as Alfie. Even though Alfie and Gabriel continue to be a part of Emily’s story, her new Italian lover, Marcello, will be more important at least for some time, and Eugenio Franceschini will be back to portray him.
There’s nothing better than old faces returning for a new season of a must-watch series, but Emily in Paris has even more in store. The series that can be watched within a weekend will introduce new characters played by Minnie Driver from The Beekeeper, Suits LA star Bryan Greenberg, and Brillantissime‘s Michèle Laroque. New faces mean new excitement. In just a few months, it will become clear who might cause some new trouble or bring some other action into the show.
