That’s where the real secret lies… 👇 Full story below!
Here’s everything we know about Lady Gaga’s role as Rosaline Rotwood—and her new song for Wednesday season two.
Warning: Wednesday season 2, part 1 spoilers ahead:
The first four episodes of Wednesday season two just dropped, and we’re already anxious for part two, especially because Lady Gaga will join the cast of Netflix’s most successful series at the moment.
That’s right, at the end of May the platform confirmed that the 39-year-old artist will have a cameo in one of the remaining episodes that will arrive on September 3. In fact, as soon as the video of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday dancing to Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” instead of The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck” went viral on TikTok, Tim Burton and the rest of the team knew she had to be part of the Addams’ daughter’s story.
That’s why Ortega joined Lady Gaga on stage midway through her performance of “Bloody Mary” at during TUDUM 2025, which was introduced with a dance routine to the rhythm of “Goo Goo Muck.” And it seems the singer won’t limit her participation to playing a character.
Just as she did with Joker: Folie À Deaux, Lady Gaga will leverage her musical and visual storytelling talents to expand the fabulous universe created by Charles Addams through a song and its accompanying video, directed by Burton.
Here’s what to expect from Lady Gaga in just a few weeks—at least, everything we know.
First, what happened in Wednesday season 2, Part 1?
In the season two opener, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy after spending the summer learning to harness her psychic powers. This new semester is marked by a series of gruesome murders committed by a flock of crows, including the death of Commander Galpin, Tyler’s father. Driven by troubling premonitions, she sets out to protect her friend Enid and investigate the mystery, uncovering clues that lead her to Willow Hill, a psychiatric hospital where marginalized beings are used for experimentation.
Among the suspects is Judi, Dr. Fairburn’s seemingly innocent assistant, who turns out to be part of a dark experiment designed to give powers to “normal” people. The climax of this installment is electrifying: Wednesday and her Uncle Fester discover that “LOIS” is a sinister acronym (Long-term Outcast Integration Study) that involves imprisoning and experimenting on Outcasts as test subjects.
The situation escalates when Tyler, freed from capture, transforms into Hyde again and unleashes chaos, while Wednesday ends up thrown out of a window, gravely and dejected, her body covered in blood and the uncertainty of her fate sealing a shocking cliffhanger.

Who is Lady Gaga’s character in Wednesday season 2, part 2?
In the next batch of episodes, we will continue to unravel this mystery, with Lady Gaga entering the picture as Rosaline Rotwood, a “legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday,” according to Netflix’s official X.com account.
However, Ortega says that’s not quite right. “She’s not a teacher,” Ortega told Entertainment Tonight on August 9. “She’s not. Whatever you heard, it’s wrong.”
What are the fan theories about Rosaline Rotwood?
Fan theories point to two possible impacts on the plot: on one hand, they believe she will revive old and murky secrets from the school as a villain, while others suspect she will be a kind of mentor for Wednesday and will be part of the heroes of the series.
Which episode does Lady Gaga join the series?
It is not yet known in which chapter she will appear, but several media reports suggest she will only participate in one episode. During that episode, she will reportedly debut “Dead Dance,” the song that she composed for the series.
