As soon as fans finished watching Wednesday on Netflix, they had one question for the streaming service: when is Wednesday season 2? Netflix took some time before granting the fledgling series a second season, but now that we’ve got confirmation that more Wednesday is on the way, it’s time to get excited.
“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first,” Wednesday creators, showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said in a statement to Tudum.
“We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces,” Gough and Millar said of season 2 casting.
Wednesday season 1 broke Netflix’s record for the number of hours viewed in a single week — twice, no less. Now that we know that the story will continue, it’s never too early to start thinking ahead to next season.
Here’s everything we know about Wednesday season 2.

Wednesday season 2 cast
Jenna Ortega reprises her role as Wednesday Addams in the second season. After going viral for Wednesday’s epic dance moves, Ortega (Scream) is in high demand. In fact, she presented at the 2023 Golden Globes and had a thrilling night hosting SNL. She’s also serving as a producer for Wednesday season 2.
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will return in season 2, and they have all been promoted to series regulars.
Additionally, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Jamie McShane and Fred Armisen will also be returning as series regulars.

Wednesday season 2 plot
Here’s what we know about the premise of Wednesday season 2:
“Wednesday Addams, returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Creator/showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar return for the spine-tingling second season of Wednesday, alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton.”
There’s also the matter of that mysterious text that Wednesday received in the season finale. “[The stalker proves] that threats remain out there… to both Wednesday and the school,” Millar told Tudum. “Not all not loose ends have been tied up neatly as she thinks they have.”
But don’t expect the love triangle to be a story in the second season. In a June 2023 interview with Variety, Ortega shot down the possibility of continuing with that story. “We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great,” she said.
