After seeing that menu, consider our flight to Kansas City booked.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce previewed the menu at their upcoming Kansas City steakhouse, 1587 Prime.
The two sampled items like wagyu steak, truffle butter, and a full steak flight during a private tasting.
The restaurant, opening inside the Loews Hotel, features high-end decor and nods to their NFL careers.
Who would you want to share a meal with, dead or alive? If you didn’t say Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, think harder. The Super Bowl-winning bromance is leveling up from touchdown passes to truffle butter at their upcoming Kansas City steakhouse, 1587 Prime—and they just gave fans a virtual first taste.
In a new video shared by the restaurant’s Instagram account, the dynamic football duo sat down to try some of the menu offerings for the very first time. We’re talking wagyu beef, garlic hibiscus butter, chimichurri sauce, and one very animated reaction to truffle soy. “You need some of that, dog,” Kelce said, clearly on a culinary high. Mahomes? He took his advice and went in without hesitation. It’s a full-on foodie buddy comedy that would probably make millions if it were on the big screen. Can you imagine the popcorn buckets?
1587 Prime, named after their jersey numbers (Mahomes reps 15, Kelce with a strong 87 on his back), is set to open inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel sometime in 2025. Designed as a “modern twist on the classic American steakhouse,” it’ll deliver full-on upscale vibes with two floors of intimate dining and its very own meat display. The visuals run wild with that last one.
Will there be Super Bowl memorabilia on the walls? Absolutely. Will Taylor Swift be the next to taste-test the entrees? TBD. But let’s be real here, folks—steak can get real moody. She might be inspired.
During their first tasting, we witnessed butter flights (yes, apparently that’s a thing now), Diablo shrimp, a smash burger made with Japanese A5 wagyu, and something called the “steak flight experience,” which includes a wagyu filet, Black Angus ribeye, and Japanese New York strip. Big men, big muscles, and big protein! Oh, and butter. Did we mention there was butter?
Kelce later commented on the post, “Man that food was better than I could have imagined!! KC get ready baby!!” If you weren’t already booked your dual dinner reservation and flight to Kansas City, now’s the time. If these taste test reactions are any indication, two of the NFL’s most dominating players might just dominate the steakhouse game, too.
