The Dancing On Ice presenter ended his routine at the Royal Albert Hall in emotional style

Royal Variety viewers were in tears as they spotted a heartbreaking detail at the end of Stephen Mulhern’s performance. The Dancing On Ice presenter was part of the star-studded line-up at the iconic event this year.
The world’s longest running event was fronted by Alan Carr and Amanda Holden this year. The 2024 edition was recorded last month and was broadcast on ITV tonight.
Stephen took to the stage early on in the performance and dazzled fans with a series of magic tricks. The routine ended in magnificent style when he made Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda, disappear.
The 47-year-old received an incredible ovation from the crowd watching at the end of his illusion. As he exited the stage, he said: “That was for you dad.”
Stephen’s dad, Christopher, died earlier this year and fans following the show on social media platform X were emotional after the comment. Sophie said: “Oh my, I was in tears then when Stephen dedicated that amazing magic trick to his Dad.
“I felt so sorry for him knowing he lost him so recently so he didn’t get to see him on #theroyalvarietyshow but he’ll be looking down. It was incredible”
Elle commented: “You were fantastic on #RoyalVarietyPerformance @itv You were made to entertain and a great tribute to your Dad.”
World of Film and TV posted: “Mulhern just did one of the all time great Royal Variety performances and his mention of his dad at the end got me”
Nicola commented: “Absolutely amazing performance on @ITV. Lump in my throat, knowing that it was not that long after your sad news. Your dad would be so proud of you, as I imagine the rest of your family are and as are your fans. Sending love.”
Beckie shared, alongside tearful emojis: “That was for you dad” Nicola added: your dad will be so proud. Those we love don’t go away they walk beside us everyday , unseen heard but always near, never far apart always in your heart.”
