Body discovered matching missing South Carolina personal trainer’s description, police say
South Carolina police revealed Wednesday that they recovered a body matching the atheltic attire of a personal trainer who vanished after leaving the gym last week.
Elena Katherine Moore was last seen leaving Planet Fitness in Lexington, when she headed toward a wooded area behind an adjacent Lowe’s Home Improvement store at 9:17 p.m. Thursday, the Lexington Police Department said.

The 39-year-old trainer was wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants when she left the gym, according to surveillance footage.
Police found a body with the same clothing description wearing similar clothes, Fox 8 reported. It’s not clear where or when the person was found, and authorities are still waiting on a coroner for an exact identification.
Police had expanded their search Wednesday to a wooded area near Lakeside Middle School, roughly a mile away from the Planet Fitness, according to The State.
Moore’s husband, Brannon Slice, was not eyed as a person of interest as of Tuesday.

Slice reported her missing sometime Friday, and described Moore’s disappearance as “very out of character” for his wife of one year.
Lauren Beasley, a friend of Moore’s, told Fox News that the only strange thing she noticed recently was the media-savvy personal trainer’s decreased presence online.
“She is very active on social media so her going radio [silence] for the last month is out of character,” Beasley said.

Fox News reported that Slice had commented that Moore was “not well” in a since-deleted Facebook post.
Police attempted to track Moore’s phone, but it’s unlcear if she was still in possession of it.
As of Monday, authorities were still unde the belief that she was not in imminent danger, WIS News 10 reported.
Authorities said Moore’s disappearance is still considered an active investigation and asked the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to help.
Moore is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
