This Morning star Craig Doyle sent a special message to his mum during Wednesday’s live show
This Morning host Craig Doyle was supported by his co-star on Wednesday (May 28) as he announced that his mum was in hospital.
During today’s edition of the hit ITV programme, Craig and his co-host Rochelle Humes brought viewers the latest news from across the UK and around the world.
After speaking to Deirdre Sanders ahead of today’s phone-in on in-law issues, Craig took a moment to send well wishes to his mum.
“We’re here to help with any in-law problem,” Deirdre explained, with Craig then quipping: “Don’t know what she’s talking about. My in-laws are perfect, morning Dorothy.”
The host quickly added: “Can I say hello to my mum who’s in hospital. Hello mum, how are you? Have you got the sound up? Good girl.”

Rochelle then said: “Hello mum! Hope you’re good. Love her.”
Craig and Rochelle stepped in to host today’s This Morning while regular presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have some time off over half term. Paddy McGuinness and Alison Hammond were at the helm earlier this week.
At the start of today’s show, Rochelle congratulated Craig on completing the London Marathon last month.
“You’re stuck with Craig and I today, sorry about that,” Rochelle said, before addressing her co-star: “How are you? I’ve not seen you for a little while and we’ve got a lot to catch up on.
“Since I’ve last seen you, you’ve taken on a big challenge and absolutely nailed it… The London Marathon.”

A picture of Craig holding his medal alongside EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt and presenter Jenni Falconer was then shown on screen.
“Ah fantastic! [Jenni] had to have her knee up because it was sweaty day, let’s just say,” Craig explained.
“I haven’t done one in about 20 years and I thought I was the same as I was 20 years ago, I’m definitely not. It was really, really tough, so congratulations to all of you who finished the marathon… I was slow, I enjoyed it, the crowds were unbelievable.”
Elsewhere on today’s show, Craig and Rochelle spoke to opera singer Lesley Garrett, who opened up about her secret cancer battle.
Plus, Race Across the World’s Fin and Sioned were in the studio ahead of the latest episode of the hit BBC travel series, as well as Sharon Marshall sharing all the soap gossip live from Emmerdale.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
