Nancy Guthrie Update: New Suspicion Emerges That 2 Men Abducted Her
On Tuesday, March 3, the search for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, continued in its second month, persisted, and a new theory emerged online that perhaps two men were involved with her abduction.
Nancy Guthrie was taken from her Tucson, Arizona-area home on Feb. 1, and authorizes have been searching for her ever since.
Police have been looking for a suspect pictured in surveillance footage taken the night of the abduction, but so far, no arrests have been made.

Nancy Guthrie Update Today: Idea Surfaces That 2 Men Abducted Her
New York-based investigative reporter Michael Ruiz has been on the scene in Tucson outside of the Nancy Guthrie home since the beginning of the investigation. While on the scene late on Monday, March 2, a follower pointed out to Ruiz that they might see a second flashlight in the surveillance video, that would be coming from a second person involved in the abduction.
“Does anyone else think at the 39 second mark on this video they see another flashlight to the right of the screen? Second person? He clearly looks back towards the driveway when he pulled the flowers up before returning to try and cover the camera,” the person asked.
Ruiz was quick to debunk the idea of a second person being involved in the kidnapping, stating, “Looks like flower petals to me,” as a reply to the post.
“In normal light, daytime mode, you will see this sometimes when you see cameras looking at an indirect light source and it will appear as a green or red dot moving around the image almost like a prism, and yes you can chase them around as you move your camera,” one follower replied.
Even As the Case Enters Its Second Month, It Remains an ‘Active Investigation’
Even though the case to find Nancy Guthrie has been going on for more than a month, and despite authorities saying that they’re shifted resources in it, officials say it remains an “active investigation.”
“This remains an active investigation and will continue until Nancy Guthrie is located or all leads have been exhausted,” a PCSD spokesman told Fox News Digital.
They added, “The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is refocusing resources to detectives specifically assigned to this case. As leads are developed and resolved, resource allocation may fluctuate. PCSD will maintain a patrol presence in the Guthrie neighborhood.” Last week, video from a neighbor’s Ring camera showed a dozen cars passing through the area on the same morning that Nancy disappeared. That video is “still part of the investigation,” according to a report from NBC News.
