JT of the City Girls may not be done feuding with Cardi B just yet, as a line in her new song “Okay” seems directed at the Bronx star.
Early Friday (April 26), JT premiered “Okay,” and fans quickly picked up on one particular lyric that appeared to be aimed right at Bardi.
“She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missin’/ Cheap ass veneers, you stay talkin’ shit/ Put a marker to this bitch, she’s so counterfeit,” JT raps at one point on the song.
The line about missing teeth and cheap veneers, some fans theorized, was about Cardi, who just last month shared video of herself with a tooth missing, explaining that “one of [my] veneers came out while chewing on a hard-ass bagel.”
“JT clocking cardi’s tea [crying face emojis],” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another said: “JT COMING FOR CARDI NECK OMGGG #OKAYJT.”
Cardi and JT had issues back in 2022, when they got into a spat on social media.
The two made public what apparently had been a private DM conversation, and the resulting back-and-forth involved insults and accusations of ghostwriting.
Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee took it upon himself to mediate.
Lee was sitting back watching the explosive back-and-forth while reposting Cardi and JT’s tweets on Hollywood Unlocked before he decided to take action and broker a truce between the “Twerk” collaborators.
“I can either use my platform to make the girls fight or fix it,” he tweeted at the time. “Ima always try to bring people together. Cardi be minding her business and then the funny shit be happening. I’m not gonna let a misunderstanding get outta hand. Hop Hop bigger than this petty shit.”
He later wrote: “Talked to BIG BARDI. It’s squashed and they talked it out that’s what I like to see …I hate seeing all these female rappers fighting wit each other. Both have respect for each other. Hip hop bigger than this! Yassssssss.”
However, JT called out Lee for trying to make himself look like the good guy after inciting the drama and gaining clicks and views from their spat.
“You can’t use your platform to do anything after you posted every tweet this is what you come with,” she rebutted.
That prompted Lee to put out another fire and privately get on the same page as JT before calling it a night.
“Talking to @thegirljt. We good. I’m going to bed,” he announced.
