Did Virgin River Just Rewrite the Rules of Pregnancy? Fans Can’t Handle This Ridiculous Timeline Mistake

Virgin River fans have taken to Reddit to share their thoughts after re-watching the series ahead of season 7 being released in a few months.

Tim Matheson as Doc Mullins and Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine

Virgin River had a bittersweet end to season 6, with Mel and Jack’s wedding, but leaves the fate of Charmaine uncertain. Fans are already wondering when the next season will drop.

Although a release date from Netflix hasn’t been set, it appears the filming schedule is planned for sometime in the spring this year. “Great news !!! Virgin River season 7 is schedule to film in Vancouver from March 12 to June 26, 2025,” it was announced.

The announcement which was posted on Instagram continued, “Usually the film schedule changes slightly but Tim Matheson already announced that the show was going to start filming in spring. Definitely an exciting news for the fans.”

During the dreaded wait for another fix of Virgin River, fans have been re-watching old episodes, which led to them stumbling across a noticeable blunder in the timeline of Charmaine’s pregnancy.

Taking to Reddit, one person pointed out: “I just got to the end of season 5 and I’m dying at the fact that they had Charmaine say, “I feel like I’ve been pregnant for years” when she was literally pregnant for years lol.”

“Yes that was the funniest line. Their timelines were a mess,” echoed another viewer. A third agreed, “I swear she was pregnant for three years meanwhile another pregnancy happened overnight lol.”

Someone else wrote, “Lol the timeline of this show is wild. Seasons 1-5 take place over 9 months, then there’s a time jump and Lizzie is several months pregnant at the beginning of season 6 after years of dragging out Charmaine’s pregnancy.”

They continued, “It’s like a Sims game where you fast forward through their lives when you want to and play in real time when you want to, there’s no consistency lmao.”

Meanwhile, not everyone has been impressed with the series which is fronted by leading roles Mel and Jack, portrayed by Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge.

Some people have been taking their thoughts online to Reddit and questioned the on-screen chemistry, One said: “Does anyone else feel like they have absolutely zero romantic chemistry?,” one person asked following the wedding episode.

Another agreed, adding: “I don’t understand how a show with a strong romantic focus can be running 7 and potentially 8 seasons with their lead couple having no romantic chemistry.”
