Is Reba McEntire leaving 'The Voice'? Here's what she has to say about the rumors - pennlive.com

Country music icon Reba McEntire has only been on The Voice as a coach for a couple of seasons, but it seems like her time on the show has already come to an end.

Is Reba leaving The Voice?

Yes, after Season 26, Reba will be stepping down from her coaching role on The Voice. NBC confirmed this news when they released the lineup for the next season, and she wasn’t on it. The Season 27 judges are John Legend, Michael Buble, Gwen Stefani, and Adam Levine.

Levine is one of the longest-running coaches in the show’s history and took a break after sixteen seasons straight. But now he’s back in hopes of taking home his fourth win.

The jury’s still out on whether viewers can expect Reba to return to the singing series in the future, but at least she managed to win a season before her exit.

The Voice Fans Weren’t A Fan Of Reba

The Voice has seen a rotating ensemble of celebrities taking the reigns as coaches on the show, and while some have become fan favorites, others have been met with criticism. And for Reba, it’s been more of the latter.

In a Reddit thread, viewers vented about how they didn’t think the country singer was a good pick to be on the show. Here are a few of the comments:

“I like Reba as a person, but I don’t think she’s an especially great coach.”
“Reba was mid as a coach. Middle of the pack and nowhere close to the worst.”
“Didn’t care for her as a coach at all. Love her as a person/artist.”

Needless to say, fans won’t be too upset to see her leaving the series.

Why Is Reba Leaving The Voice?

Right now, Reba is gearing up for the release of another NBC show called Happy’s Place. A spin-off series of her Reba sitcom, McEntire will be reprising her role as Bobbie.

It was assumed that she was stepping down from The Voice to star in this series instead.

However, working for two shows at the same time didn’t seem like a challenge for the singer, at least not at first. “This is a piece of cake. You just have to walk across the alley. The two stages are next to each other,” she explained.

In fact, she recently denied the rumors that she was leaving The Voice. “Please do not click on the articles that say that say I am leaving The Voice. This is not true,” she revealed on social media.

So, it’s unclear whether juggling both shows proved to be harder than she thought, or if there was some behind-the-scenes drama that caused McEntire to leave The Voice.
