Season 26 of The Voice aired its finale on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The five finalists performed one last time with their coaches before the voting results were announced. Ultimately, Sofronio Vazques from Michael Bublé’s team was crowned the winner, while Jeremy Beloate from Snoop Dogg’s team finished in fifth place.
Reba McEntire and her mentee, Danny Joseph, secured fourth place, whereas, Gwen Stefani’s contender, Sydney Sterlace finished third. Team Bublé’s feat continued after Sofronio when his other team member, Shye, came in second place.
Although fans of The Voice were pleased by Sofronio’s win, they were unhappy to see Jeremy finish in fifth place. Netizens took to X to share their opinions of America’s judgment.
“Jeremy 5th place is just flat out wrong,” a fan wrote.
“I thought Danny would have been fifth. Jeremy in fifth is a bit of a shock,” another fan commented.
“Jeremy and his broadway voice got robbed just like Omar some seasons back,” a netizen tweeted.
Fans of The Voice were shocked to see Jeremy take fifth place. They believed he deserved a higher rank.
“Jeremy in fifth. This is a hate crime,” a user reacted.
“Jeremy getting 5th place is straight up insanity. Hello? America are we okay?” a person commented.
“I’m absolutely gutted for @jeremybeloate but I now know of his talent and I will be a fan forever!” another fan wrote.
“I sat through 2 HOURS of this show just to see Jeremy in 5th is absolute INSANITY,” one user posted.
Other fans of The Voice expressed a similar sentiment.
“JEREMY BELOATE IN FIFTH PLACE ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME BRO,” a person reacted.
“JEREMY IN FIFTH IS CRIMINAL. I’m livid. Tf is wrong with people?” another netizen commented.
The Voice finale: Jeremy Beloate sings an Otis Redding song with his coach Snoop Dogg
Before the outcome of America’s votes was announced, each finalist stepped onto the stage to sing a duet with their coach. Memphis native, Jeremy and his mentor Snoop Dogg presented an emotional rendition of (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding.
In a confessional, Jeremy reflected on his journey on The Voice and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. He was thankful to be under the mentorship of Snoop Dogg, who treated him “like family” and with whom he had developed a “brotherhood.”
Although Jeremy finished fifth overall in season 26 of the competition, he confessed that Snoop’s mentorship helped him gain confidence in himself and his skills.
Jeremy’s journey on The Voice
Jeremy earned a four-chair turn during the blind auditions with his powerful rendition of Giveon’s Heartbreak Anniversary. Although every coach came up with a convincing appeal, Jeremy selected Michael as his mentor.
However, Jeremy jumped ships in the Knockouts round when Snoop Dogg stole him from Team Bublé, impressed by his cover of Golden Hour by Jvke.
He remained on Team Snoop ever since. In the Playoffs, Jeremy sang The Impossible Dream (The Quest) followed by a solo version of I (Who Have Nothing) in the Live Shows. Jeremy then teamed up with Mega Mentor Sting to deliver a noteworthy rendition of Every Breath You Take by The Police.
Ultimately, Jeremy made it into the last leg of the competition after defeating Christina Eagle in the Semi-finals.
The Voice is available to watch on NBC.com and the NBC App.
