The rapper and the professional basketball star were spotted hanging out at Lollapalooza
Angel Reese‘s friendship with Megan Thee Stallion might be unexpected, but the Chicago Sky ace and the music performer are very close, as evidenced by her surprise at Mehan’s Lollapalooza show in Illinois.
The seventh pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft is back in training to resume her career, but she found one final chance to enjoy herself before turning back pro as she ran on stage to surprise Mehan Thee Stallion on Thursday, August 1.
The rapper, who’s most streamed song is 2020’s WAP with Cardi B, was headlining the Lollapalooza show in Chicago when Reese filmed herself running on the stage to her friend, who was shocked.
“I can’t believe it,” Megan yelled before the pair embraced on stage and smiled into Reese‘s cell phone camera before she got back to her show.
The ex-LSU Tigers‘ night wasn’t over yet either as she copied Travis Kelce at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour by getting involved with the dancing for Where Them Girls At on the stage.
Megan Thee Stallion is a highly successful artist at the young age of 29, with 52 awards including six BET victories, four American Music titles and three Grammys triumphs and is known for other hits alongside WAP such as Savage and Mamushi.
Reese, meanwhile, is a highly-rated Chicago Sky prospect who could potentially win the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award after she graduated from the NCAA upon becoming a Women’s National Division I champion with the Tigers.
When does Reese play next?
Reese, who also appeared in the 2024 WNBA All-Star game in her debut season, is posting strong averages from the forward role, with the 22-year-old putting up 13.5 points per game, 12 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game.
She will next be in action against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, August 16 when she welcomes the Mercury to the Wintrust Arena in Illinois.
