Spending nearly 30 years in the music industry, Michael Bublé serenaded fans with classic albums like Dream, Crazy Love, and Nobody But Me. Selling over 75 million albums worldwide, the singer also brought home more than a few awards that included five Grammys. But looking to make a change in his life, Bublé decided to join the cast of The Voice. Having to coach alongside stars like Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, and Reba McEntire, the star recently opened up about filming the first episode.
With only a few days left before The Voice kicks off another season, Bublé discussed the pressure that came with walking on set. He told TV Insider, “I was really nervous to do the show.” Thankfully, the crew helped ease his worries. “But from what I hear from the crew that’s been there all 14 years, is that there’s been nothing like this [group of coaches]. We’re just a group that gelled and really complement each other, really liked each other. I think it’s a special thing, and I really can’t wait for people to see it. I think they’re going have a tremendous time watching.”
Not wanting to give away too many details, Bublé offered how he felt on day one. “It’s intense. But it’s the best job I’ve ever had. My mom and dad came today to see the first taping and they were like, ‘This is the greatest show on earth.’ It’s electric.”
Michael Bublé Hit It Off With Snoop Dogg
When TV Insider asked Bublé about his coaching style, the singer said, “I hope it’s self-deprecating, and gentle. It’s not a game for me. And I know it’s a competition, but there’s nothing funny about someone’s dream, you know? I take it very seriously.”
While wanting to offer the best advice to his team, Bublé still has to compete against industry legends like Snoop Dogg. But according to the singer, they instantly hit it off. “I don’t think it has anything to do with us being new. The first time we met, we just clicked, you know? Honestly, we’re a good fit. We laugh a lot together. I’m a big fan of that guy, as an artist and as a human being.”
Don’t miss the season 26 premiere of The Voice, airing on Monday, September 23 at 8:00 ET/PT on NBC.
