The much-anticipated video adds imagery to a tale of survival.
The official music video for Reba McEntire’s beloved “I Can’t” is officially here!
Ever since Reba performed the new single on The Voice back in May, fans have been eager to see how she would incorporate the music—an emotional number on survival—into a video. At long last, the wait is over!

On July 26, the official “I Can’t” music video premiered on YouTube and was met with instant praise. “Who else gets chills when she sings,” one fan simultaneously questioned and exclaimed. “I’m nearly 700 days sober. I’m focused on my healing. This song makes my heart smile because someone understands how I feel when I tell people no,” someone else commented. “Thank you, Reba, for always speaking what everyone can relate to,” another fan wrote. “This woman still has it all these years later. Beautiful singer/songwriter/and all-around human. Way to go, Reba,” someone else chimed in.
There’s a reason why so many of Reba’s fans find solace in the song. The 4-minute track honors the idea that you can’t always be there for everybody else; sometimes you need to put all your effort into yourself and simply staying afloat—something not many artists dare to sing about, despite how common the concern is in today’s day and age.
Of course, Reba isn’t one to shy away from hard topics. Her much-anticipated new show, Happy’s Place (premiering on NBC on October 18), details the grieving process and learning things about loved ones once they’re gone. However, in typical Reba fashion, it’s done with a comedic and endearing sitcom flair. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait!
