Sources shared their claims after Dwyane Johnson was accused of causing issues on an upcoming movie.
Ryan Reynolds is said to have ‘confronted’ Dwayne Johnson as they allegedly clashed during work on their 2021 movie Red Notice.
The movie was well received when it arrived, earning an Audience Score of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but allegations have since emerged claiming there were issues when it came to actually creating the movie.
The claims come after Johnson was accused of turning up as much as eight hours late to the set of his upcoming movie, Red One, which is set to release later this year.
Johnson’s alleged lateness, reported by The Wrap, is said to have caused $50 million of costs – though a spokesperson for Amazon MGM quickly shut down the allegations.
Amazon denied the claims about Johnson.
“Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One – a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
“Our testing has been very strong – the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself – and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support.
“Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.”
The Wrap report also made allegations about production on Red Notice, claiming Reynolds became ‘infuriated’ after he had to wait ‘five hours’ for Johnson on set.
Insiders told the publication the pair had a ‘huge fight’, prompting Johnson to storm off set.
Hours after the report about Johnson’s alleged behavior initially came to light, other sources shared their own claims about Red Notice with TMZ.
Johnson and Reynolds starred in Red Notice.
Production sources with direct knowledge of the incident claimed Reynolds did ‘confront’ Johnson after he was ‘repeatedly late to set’.
Johnson’s alleged behavior was said to have affected the shooting schedule during what was already a complicated shoot taking place in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the sources indicated that the amount of hours Johnson was allegedly late were ‘greatly exaggerated’. The pair are also said to have managed to work things out, after which Johnson came to work and the shoot continued without incident.
In response to The Wrap’s report, a Netflix spokesperson appeared to dismiss any issues as they said: “Dwayne is the consummate professional and we’re thrilled to have worked with him on ‘Red Notice,’ our #1 film.”
