After sharing that she welcomed her first baby with husband Charlie McDowell via surrogate, the Mirror, Mirror star gave fans an adorable glimpse of daughter Tove Jane McDowell as she cradled the newborn in a photo shared on social media Feb. 6.
In the sweet snap, the Emily in Paris actress wore a cozy dark sweater while gazing lovingly at her baby girl, who was swaddled in a brown patterned blanket and blue knit hat. Alongside the Instagram pic, Lily—whose dad is Phil Collins—wrote that she was in “mom mode.”
One week earlier, the 35-year-old announced her new arrival in a joint social media post with Charlie, 41, calling little Tove “the center of our world.”
The couple, who married in 2021, concluded the post with a message to their daughter, adding, “We love you to the moon and back again.”
Charlie previously hinted that he and Lily had plans to expand their family as he spoke about their mutual desire to become parents someday.
“We would like to,” he told E! News in October. “We would like to move into that next stage, so we’ll see when it happens!”
And the Summer Book director evidently found the perfect partner in his wife, gushing about her supportive nature.
“I would fall into a dark hole of nothingness without her,” he added. “She’s amazing.”
As for Lily, she realized she’d found a meaningful connection the moment she met Charlie on the 2019 set of Gilded Rage.
“It was one of those situations where I knew the second I met him that I wanted to be his wife one day,” she said during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2020. “So, it was just a matter of when, really.”
