WWE legend and Hollywood star The Rock has come under the scanner. The Army is possibly regretting an $11 million deal they cut with Dwayne Johnson and the United Football League (UFL).
The Great One has established himself as one of the biggest names in Hollywood today. Apart from putting blockbuster movies, The Rock has found immense success in WWE, becoming a board member at TKO Group Holdings earlier this year. He is also involved in several other projects with Under Armour, Teremana Tequila, Papatui, and more.
Popular website Military.com reported that the US Army had invested $11 million in the UFL. The investment was towards boosting enlistment in the Army. However, the latest updates indicate that the high-profile deal has not resulted in a single recruit yet.

The deal between the two parties would also feature The Rock as a “pseudo brand ambassador” for the Army. The 52-year-old is a social media megastar with 396 million followers on Instagram. The decision was made owing to Johnson’s immense social media reach. The Army expected some social media posts from The Brahma Bull endorsing the armed forces. The posts would be valued at $1 million each and he was expected to make around five posts. However, The Final Boss has only made two posts.
The Rock has been away from WWE for a while
The Rock was heavily involved in the build-up to WrestleMania XL earlier this year. The Brahma Bull was also present during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony where he was awarded the People’s Championship.
The Great One wrestled on Night One of The Show of Shows, teaming up with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The Bloodline duo won the match. However, the heel faction could not produce the same result the following night as Cody defeated Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
The following night on RAW, The Final Boss confronted Rhodes and announced that he was taking some time off WWE programming. However, The Rock made it clear that their story was just getting started and he would be back soon.
