Watch American Horror Story Season 12: Synopsis
After a Hollywood strike induced delay, American Horror Story is back to finish off an intense twelfth outing.
The first half of the series introduced us to Emma Roberts’ Anna Victoria Alcott, an actress with a booming career, the perfect husband and an Oscar on the way. The only thing lacking in Anna’s picture perfect life was a baby. So when she became pregnant, it seemed to be a dream come true…
But this is the American Horror Story universe, and the dream soon turned into a nightmare for Anna as she became increasingly convinced that there were dark forces at play, hell-bent on preventing the birth. Her handsome husband and sycophantic entourage were sure it was all in her head, but Cara Delevingne’s spooky stalker lurking in wait behind every corner suggested otherwise.
Season 12 of the global hit anthology series is named Delicate and, never afraid to weave spine-chilling spectacle with political allegory, is as much anti-misogyny treatise as stylish escapism. The novel it’s loosely based upon – Danielle Valentine’s Delicate Condition – has itself been described as a “feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby“.
But perhaps the most eye-catching thing about part one of American Horror Story Season 12 was the fact that Kim Kardashian was in the cast as Anna’s best pal, Siobhan. Not necessarily known for her acting prowess, there’s no denying that Kardashian surprised viewers and critics alike, with an engaging performance that some described as the best element of the show. And it’s looking like she’ll take things up a notch in part two as Siobhan’s true intentions are revealed.
